She knew he was getting old, but that did not concern her. She herself was older than she felt, she was ageing quickly, for her small size. Her legs carried her over the rocks, though in places she struggled because of her diminutive size. She snorted as she fell and slid a little way, but leapt back up again anyway. Where would he be lurking at the moment? There had to be somewhere that he would be at the moment. She paused to think and then hurried on, light hooves touching the ground and then lifting again as she moved gracefully along.
"Ashton?" she called, her little blue roan head lifting as she finally spotted her huge love.

Ashton

Powerful strides carried him up the hillside, glossy bodice glistening under the afternoon sun. Long blades of grass stood out against his pelt, easily brushing away as he moved.
Harks flickered at the sound of tumbling stones, his body moving quicker up the hillside and blocking the little fae's fall.
"Hello Cinnamon," he said with gentle amusement, he had not seen the small mare in ages. He guessed she had left with the rest of the mares, but it seemed not.
Helping her up the slightly rocky bit, he smiled down upon her.
"It is good to see you again."

She chuckled as he came to her, helping her up the slope she'd been trying to climb up. “I was looking for you actually,” she said. She smiled at him though, knowing that though he was getting older now, but he still cared about all the others. “Where were you all? I can never keep up, no matter how hard I try,” she said, sighing heavily. She knew that her time too was coming to an end, but it would not be him first, but herself.

Stiffness in her joints was making everything hard for her. “There is something I wish for,” she said, looking up at him, with old blue eyes. She hoped he would do this for her, though she knew it would be a little hard, seeing as she was so small.

Moving somewhat more graceful then the little fae, the king of all pushed forth until they made flat surface. His harks flickered at her words, hesitating on his reply despite knowing she had the right to know.
"I was with my new queen.." he said softly "the heir to the land has been born."
He sighed, nuzzling her head "Eleven died..." he whispered sadly "it was my fault."

He knew they were both getting older, soon they would both step down and allow the younger ones to replace them. Him as king, and she as a wonderful fae.
Warm brown orbs locked with hers, knowing what it was that she wished.
"Cinnamon..." he said gently "is that the best idea? Truly...remember what happened last time...?"
He didn't really want to remind her, but last time she had had a foal it to had been from a bigger stallion, it had been a hard birth and almost killed her. Though, with his help, they had both survived.
"The choice is yours though dear."

“It will be the last I ever have, Ashton,” she replied. “You’re the only one that I would ever want to have a foal from in all these lands.” She hoped he understood that much. This was not something she was concerned about. “I know it will be hard for me, but with you around, I doubt it will be any harder than the last.”

No she would not leave Woodrow Cove, not until the day she died. Little did she know that her last foal would kill her to get out. Not that she would mind anyway. Such was life.

The brown orbs blinked slowly, understanding clearing within his gentle sight. His nose lowered, nudging her small cheek.
"Then my dear," he whispered "a foal you shall get."
A quiet sigh escaped him "would you like to return to the glade? Or spend our days here?"
The head lifted, eyes peeled upon the valley below with sudden interest. Something was disturbing his lands. He nuzzled her gently, worry deep within his orbs.
"My love, await me here...run if some approaches," he said urgently, tearing down the hill at a gallop, slipping and sliding all the way down.

“It would be safer to stay here, I think,” she said. She watched though as he suddenly rushed off, knowing that she wished her time was not so short with him any more. These things were getting the best of her though, and she knew she had to be careful at the moment.
It was not the easiest thing to do though, stay where she was, where she could easily be seen by everything around her. She sighed though, waiting for him to return, though she did not like being exposed like this. Her tail whipped out, attacking a fly on her rump.

Ashton

Hooves thudded under his ebony skin, rocks and dirt flying down with him. But, his eyes stayed trained on one thing, the pack of approaching figures.
Snow white was their coats, tracked with mud and leaves, spots could be seen under all the mess. Snow leopards. His head rush charge continued, still running as quickly and as nimbly in his younger days. It was a speed even Thowra, king of the wind, would have been proud of.
Sliding to a stop, he reared, hooves clashing above their heads.

There were several, around eight in total. Two turned tails at the sight of the mighty king, slinking back off into the trees. One tried to get around Ashton, to get to the easier prey behind. But it quickly joined its sister dead on the ground.
Four more left, Ashton charged once more. Hooves connected with one, and then another. There was one before him, but the mighty stag knew that there should be to. Quickly killing the one before him, his head looked wildly around for the last one.
And then he saw it, slinking though the trees towards the older, small fae.
"Run Cinnamon!" he yelled, trying to get to the leopard before it got it her.

She heard him calling to her to run and she had already seen why. For a few seconds the very sight of the snow leopard froze her in fear but when it leapt at her with its claws outstretched, she dodged and bolted. There was no chance it was going to kill her. Not before she had her last foal. Nor would it kill her then, no, it would be the foal's birth that would.
She used the hardest parts of the land she could to keep from having it catch her, knowing that he was coming to try and help her. Soon though she was out in the open, moving towards him as quick as she could. The wild cat was not far behind her, and she was tiring, it would catch up to her very soon.

Ashton

Longer strides covered with hillside distance easily, glossy coat being stretched as he lunged for the leopard his large hooves scraping down its white sides.
It hissed with pain, turning and attacking Ashton and leaving the small fae free to run. Screaming a challenge, hooves flashed against the claws.
But, quickly it ended.

The tall stallion heaved for breath, unused to such things in his growing age. After catching his breath, he stumbled towards Cinnamon slowly, careful with his footing so not to widen the wounds upon his shoulder.
"Are you okay?" he asked her gently, soft eyes not worried for himself only for her. He heaved another breath, his heart rate slowly returning to normal.

There were no marks on her at the moment, which was a good thing. "I'm fine," she replied. There was nothing wrong with her at the moment. "A little surprised by those cats, but other than that, nothing wrong with me." She smiled at him. 'What about you?"

She had seen one of the get him, and she was worried that there had been a bit fo damage done to him. She knew he was aging, but not so fast as she herself was. Stiffness came with age, and the gallop had been hard for her, but she'd managed.

She chuckled lightly, seeming relieved that he was alright, amidst all those ugly looking scratches on his big body. She knew though that he was tougher than some. It was something he had to be, as king of all the horses. Then again, she had known from the moment that she met him, that this was the safest place that she wanted to ever be.

“I am glad you're alright.” She smiled at him, looking up at him, knowing that there were some things that were needed.

“I asked you for a foal,” she reminded him gently.

"Ahh," he mumbled, bobbing his head pleasantly and wondered why he would not be able to remember such a thing. Surely he should be able to remember that!
He froze, stopping his head from the stupid looking movement and chuckled with a breezy shake of his head.
"Of course, my love," he said simply with a wry smile "and how could I say no to someone such as you."
He nuzzled the top of her head gently, pausing once more.
"Did you wish to stay here...or go to the glade once more?"

She chuckled lightly, knowing that once more he had forgotten her answer to that question.
“We are safer here than we are in the glade, my love.”
finally she was back to her normal breathing, it had taken her a good while for that to happen.
Running from a wild cat like that was not something she wanted to have to do again, and who knew what lurked in Wajida?
It was said that forcers would be lurking around there, and her little body did not have the strength to fight ont off, if she lost Ashton somewhere there.

The great king nodded his head, a small smile playing at his lips despite his worry for his memory.
"True," he admitted, nuzzling her side gently and paused, seeming somewhat embarrassed as he stood beside her.
"Well...are you ready love?" he asked with a small smile, not wanting her to feel pressured into such a thing by him.

She gave a little chuckle at his question. “I am.” Though how the hell was he going to do this? She was so small, being only a Falabella. Her head reached his knees when it was fully raised!

Would this ven be possible for two such as them?? She was not sure, but she knew he would do what he had to do. That was something she knew that he would do. He knew that she wanted his foal.

Somewhat awkwardly, the king of all bobbed his head and approached the small fae. Mounting her, though taking care to barely touch her, he did the deed before moving away.
Moving to stand beside her, he nuzzle to top of her aging head.
"Are you alright?" he asked gently, hoping he had not harmed her.

“I'm fine,” she said, knowing that it was true. He'd barely touched her, though she knew it would have been hard for him to do such a thing. There was nothing though that she was all that concerned about. All she knew was that the foal that would grow inside her would grow up to be one of greatness, she was sure. She was sure that he would see to that, there was no doubt about that at all.

He was the only one she would ever care about in the entire world. This was where she was able to be happy, standing here next to him, as the sun started to set.
