The Love of Pups, A Love of Mine (Erosaf)

Coloured paws covered the snow ridden ground with ease, no rhythm other then pace pounded with his strides and his dark sniffing nose. Bright blue orbs flickered over the bland landscape, following the softly falling flakes of snow and adding their mark to the earth.
It was beautiful, he guessed, in a bland fashion. Maybe a little to white for his liking.

But as he continued, the faint sound of creaking ice was brought to his attention and the crackling continued to a rumbling under his paws as he froze with confusion, studying the moving snow before yelping and dashing forwards. Little did he know, he had been standing over a melting pond. His weight adding the little extra it needed to be opened to the world once again.

Paws tucked to his chest as he sprinted across the pond, disappearing once more into the trees with a pant of breath, he looked around him for the only one he sought. The kindly fae and her pups he had met at the river. Goldstar Strike she had dubbed herself, alongside her beautiful pups.

Part of him clenched at the thought, wishing dearly that they had been his own children. His own pups. He adored them purely and simply, but he wished they were of his own blood. So that he could be their true father, raise as he wanted to become. Not that he wouldn't do the same with these three young pups at her side.
"Star!" he called into the falling mist, his dark figure a shadow against the snow "I have arrived."

The ears perked at the cracking ice, she was only on the far side of the lake, completely hidden from sight because of the snow she was lying on. He ran past her, the one she had been waiting for. She smiled, waiting for a few moments until he was almost out of sight. "Eitri," she called. "You ran past us."


She laughed, waiting for him to come back. She and her pups were all white, though she and her daughter were covered in silver markings which were actually ice. She smiled, bright green eyes watchign for him as he searched for them. She really did love the snow, she camouflaged perfectly. Only his nose would tell him where they were.

His head snapped around at her words, the black of his coat contrasting brightly with the satin background.
"Star?" he called, pacing back a few strides and sniffing the air gently, eyes peeled for her own green orbs.

Lifting his paws, he followed his trail back and wagged his tail as he finally spotted her against her background.
"Good to see you," he greeted her, licking the side of her cheek before greeting each of the pups at her side "have you been waiting long?"

"You almost went for a swim," she chuckled. "I heard the ice, and felt it as well." Of course she would feel it, she was an ice wolf after all. She laughed though. "It's good to see you again, and no not all that long. Took a while to get back here with these three with me." She smiled. "You'll learn though where the ice is thinnest."
