Frightened Searching Footsteps ((OPEN))

Akkarin walked easily through the Land of Love. The tall stallion's strides were loose and easy, carrying the ebony stallion along. The commanding air about him had lessened as he had mellowed with the presence of his newly-found love.

Not so new anymore, perhaps. However, the unicorn still felt the power of this love as strong and as surely as when he and Sakura had just met. Akkarin knew not why he hooves had brought the wandering stag to the area, but he had long since learned to stop questioning the power of fate and destiny.

Perhaps, today, Akkarin would be able to meet someone new - someone he was destined to meet, perhaps? Some might have believed that it was only possible to love once - but was love not boundless? Not infinite?

The long, spiraling horn gleamed upon the stallion's forehead, as he tightened the shields about his mind, in order to stop invading other's privacy. Even so, his hooves brought him unerringly to a certain glade. And there - he caught his breath.

Was she not Exile's daughter? The flames upon her nape and along her tail proclaimed her a daughter of darkness. And yet...

Akkarin found himself stepping forward, drawn by her melancholic expression. The stallion watched her slow, uncertain movements with puzzlement. Was she ill?

Tossing his mane to the side, Akkarin stepped forward, nickering slightly to draw attention to himself, and not to startle her.

He bowed.

"My lady," he murmured softly. "I am Akkarin. I was enchanted by your very presence. Might I have the honour of knowing your name?"

It was a mistake she had always made when others spoke to her. She looked in the completely opposite direction from where his voice came. Not realising she was not looking at him, she spoke, still looking in that wrong directions.

“Greetings to you, Akkarin. I am Chai Suil of Inlisar Nortian though in truth I am daughter of Chisel and Exile, while I have been raised by Saoirse of the forementioned land instead.”

Her ears flickered back and forth, trying to figure out exactly where he stood. Suddenly she remembered her power over the earth and dove into it, searching for the stag. Finally her head turned towards him, revealing the milky blind blue eyes.

Chai Suil sighed as he spoke of Exile. She knew the answer to that one. “He does not yet even know I exist. My mother died the day I was born, and well, I did not know of my father until my older sister, Charasma came to visit me. She was the one who told me, and I have no interest in meeting him at all. Though I know that one day it might be inevitable.”

From using the power she had in her hooves, she knew that there was a fallen log in between the two of them, and certainly no way away but over that log from here, if someone should come from another direction. Suddenly her head whipped around and she gave a slightly frightened snort as a tall liver chestnut hellion mare came towards them.

“About time you got out of that accursed land, little sister…” Asylum Escape snorted. “Was wondering whether you would ever be brave enough to do that. And now, here you are, ready for me to get rid of. Father would ashamed to hear about his little blind daughter. Really were you the best Chisel could give him?”

“That is quite enough from you!” Another mare’s voice entered the clearing, as the pure white hellion mare, Charasma, Zandere’s heir walked right past Akkarin, to stand beside Chai. “Leave Asylum Escape!”

“You are a weakling Charasma. You really think you can defend her?”

Charasma did not respond to her, but instead turned and said something quietly to her little sister.

Chai Suil nodded, and walked quietly towards Akkarin.

“Go! Both of you. I will deal with her!” Charasma said, louder, once Chai was almost over beside Akkarin. She tossed her head as Asylum made to come past her and grabbed the slightly older mare by the withers, holding her back.

Chai Suil neighed softly, knowing that unlike Asylum Escape thought, her Charasma was more than a match for her indeed. She snorted though as she walked through the trees, somewhat on her own, since she was able to feel the ground better than any seeing horse could.

"In a way, I can see, you know, but I do so using my hooves. It seems I am able to read my surroundings and things through them. Like knowing to go around that fallen log that was between us earlier," she said. "And that mare, Asylum Escape has hunted me since the day I was born."

She paused, thinking for a few moments. "I was always safe in Inlisar Nortian for it became my home for so long. Now though, I do suppose I do seek a new one."
