Jenna was sold to Rosie when she was only 8 weeks old. The little girl loved her at first sight, and gave her a red bandanna which she wears with pride around her neck. She has never taken it off - except once, when she lent it to Balto. Jenna was devastated when Nome became inhabitable, and stayed with the little girl she loved until she drew her last breaths. Only then, would she leave with Balto and the rest of the other dogs.
In the beginning of the first film, Jenna appears to have a crush on Balto. They encountered each other several times, but were torn apart by Steele, who was attempting to devilishly woo Jenna. She shows consistent distaste in Steele, but seems to enjoy Balto's company.
They soon struck up a rapport when he saved her mistress' hat and became friends. When Balto, along with Muk, Luk and Boris left to save Nome, she followed their scent. She saved Balto from a wild bear, and just before she and all of Balto's companions left (due to Jenna's injured paw), Jenna gave Balto her bandanna. When Balto returned with medicine, they officially became mates.
When a case of diphtheria hits the small Alaskan town of Nome, Jenna's owner, Rosy, becomes very ill. Balto leaves to help the dog team bring the antitoxin back home. Jenna picks up his trail, and joins the adventure for as long as she can muster. When she becomes injured, however, and returns to Nome with Boris, Muk and Luk. Jenna can only wait and watch the horizon for Balto's return.
Jenna decides to illuminate a few broken bottles to help Balto find his way home, a trick that he showed her just after Rosy became ill. One night, she hears a wolf howl in the distance and knows its him. Sure enough, the team returns home with plenty of antitoxin to save the children of the town.
In Wolf Quest, Balto and Jenna have a litter of six puppies Jenna is a caring mother to her children, and is shown crying when the pups are given away. All of the pups find homes except for Aleu, who grows up in Balto's care. Aleu find out that she is part wolf, and runs away. This causes Jenna to worry. Balto goes off to find Aleu, and though Jenna is insistent on coming with him, Boris tells her to stay home and wait.
At the beginning of the film, she is up on a mountaintop with Balto, waiting for the bush plane to fly over. When it does, Jenna states that it's "louder than a wild-eyed grizzly". Later, just before the race between the sled team and the plane, Balto comes up to Jenna, and tells her that he's worried about what their son, Kodi, will think of him if they don't win. Jenna reassures Balto by singing "You don't have to be a hero".
Jenna is later seen with Mel and Dipsy waiting for the return of the sled team and the bush plane. When she sees Balto, she races towards him, and the team, Jenna, Mel and Dipsy all cross the line together. Balto begins to worry about Duke, and when Muk and Luk come up to Balto and tell him that they were attacked by a monster that was "louder than a wild-eyed grizzly", Balto and Jenna both instantly know that the bush plane had crashed.
When Balto sets off to rescue Duke and Kodi chooses not to go with him, Jenna becomes very disappointed in Kodi. Upon their return, Jenna sees Kodi and the other mail dogs with Balto. She tells him later that Balto was so proud of him.
Jenna usually stays behind on Balto's adventures, despite asking to help. Jenna also cared a lot for her puppies, but was willing to find them homes after six months. Jenna also disliked Steele for his remarks about Balto, and his arrogant attitude, and always stuck up for Balto whenever she was there, even scolding Steele and calling him a "glory-hound." Though she never said anything about the flirtatious remarks that Steele tried on her, she always turned him down. "I don't know Steele, suddenly I lost my appetite".
Along the journey, Jenna never lost faith in Balto. She trusts him implicitly, and has become a somewhat maternal figure of for the rest of the pack. Being a 100% husky and living a comfortably life at home, she is not as deft as surviving in the wild as Balto and her sons. However, she remains positive, thrilled to have Aleu with her once more, and believes that everything will turn out well.

Jenna is very kind and gentle, and is very protective not only of her pups, but also of her owner, Rosy. When Rosy's hat fell out of her hand and into the path of Steele and his team, as Rosy tried to reach for it, Jenna grabbed her coat from behind; Balto later got the hat. She is kindhearted but also rather intelligent, as she was the only one in Nome that Steele was unable to fool.
Jenna is also very cunning (tricking Steele into burning his tail by using his infatuation of her against him), and even has fight instincts in her; she helped fight off a wild bear that was menacing Balto and the others, although her right paw ended up hurt.
Jenna has a very kind and polite personality. Most like Jenna because of this. She can be protective and even snappy at times.

Kodiak was born to Balto and Jenna within the same litter as his sisters Aleu and Saba. He is the youngest of the group.
As a pup, Kodi was always ready to engage in activities with his brothers and sisters, but found himself unable to keep up with running activities. Although this left Kodi dismayed, never believing himself capable, this allowed him to build a closer relationship with his father Balto, who would run with his son constantly until the day he would finally outrun him.
Sometime between the events of Wolf Quest and Wings of Change, or even before, Kodi attained a very high interest in the local mail team, specifically in becoming lead dog. Most likely due to his father's past with sled dog racing. Sometime during that period he attained a position on the mail team and displayed superb skills with his job.
During the events of Wings of Change, Kodi displayed a wide variety of traits that showed how easily swayed he was by his friends. Such as valuing their position on the team and overall welfare over that of a human being's life. This trait colliding roughly with both his parents. Later on his true personality revealed itself when he chose to pursue and aid his father in rescuing the pilot Duke, over the initial wishes of his comrades.
When Nome became inhabitable, Kodi went straight to his father, and calmed the voices of dissent in the pack, using the prestige of being in the mail team. He spoke up, urging the other dogs to place their faith in Balto, standing staunchly by his father's side, even when things became tough.
Along the way, Kodi began to fall for Dusty, appreciating her sharp wit and bright outlook. However, he remains too shy to tell her. Also, to his everlasting disgruntlement, Jenna continues to call him by his full name.
Kodi looks more like his mother than father, earning him many glares, snide comments and distrusting looks from the pure-bred wolves. He's proven himself strong and adaptable in the wild, and works hard to prove that he is as capable as them.

Kodi has a similar personality to Balto. Kodi has a strong sense of duty and responsibility, but also has his faults (such as allowing Balto to attempt a rescue mission into the Alaskan frontier alone for the sake of keeping his job).
He remains fiercely loyal to his friends, going to such heights such as forsaking his family's wishes to keep them content.
He is also laid-back and cool-headed.
He has a strong drive and passion for sled racing and wishes to push himself to the limits due to events in his childhood, where he was physically the weakest of the entire litter (the runt of the litter). He shares a strong bond with his father due again to his childhood experiences and is extremely proud to be his son.

She was 8 weeks old when she was adopted by her owner - a little boy named Jack. He loved her and she him. She grew up warm and comfortable, never having to worry about anything/
However, a few weeks before they had to move, a freak accident occurred. In one of the snowstorms, a tree uprooted and fell upon her, crushing her back leg beyond repair. Her owners rushed her to the vet, and they had to amputate her leg.
She is still trying to get the hang of moving around on three legs, and the going has been really tough, especially during the journey.

She is outgoing and bright, caring and gentle. Her injury has made her determinedly cheerful, always looking for the silver linings on clouds. Despite her injury, she is not afraid to try, and will pull her weight if need be, in the pack, to hunt and fight. Even though she herself admits she's not very good at either.

She led a normal life and grew up in awe of their previous pack leader, Nava. She aspired to be like him, so she trained hard and forced herself to be the very best.
Then, the wolf-dogs came. She doubted their words and was swayed by Steele, before coming to her senses and placing her trust in Nava, and by extension, the wolf-dogs. She was slightly jealous when Aleu became leader, but she got over it, and tried to be the best pack member she can be.
However, the dogs soon came. She became angry, jealous that they were accepted so easily. She was very prejudiced against them, and began to meet with Steele, who liked to harass the dogs as well. She still does not like Niju, from his attempt to take over the pack. She believes that she is trying to make the pack stronger, by removing the dogs that Aleu accepted.

She was bought by her humans from another town. Lonely and uncertain, she explored the small town and met Jenna and Dixie, who became her best friends. She knows all about Jenna's adventures, and often lends a listening ear to her friend.
When Nome became inhospitable, she trusted in Jenna, following her and Balto to FP.

Niju planned to take over the wolf pack with the aid of his followers, Nuk, Yak, and Sumac. Eventually the wolf pack started to turn towards Niju and started to follow him, but when the ice bridge that led to the caribou formed, the entire pack including Nuk, Yak, and Sumac turned back to Nava, Balto, Aleu. Niju also attempted to kill the pack leader Nava as well as Aleu, but his plans were foiled by Balto. When Niju was given the opportunity to lead the pack, his "fear of change" got the better of him and he fled into the forest.
Later, however, he followed the pack across the ice. He has been biding and waiting for the right moment to strike. When Steele and the other dogs came, he knew that this would be his opportunity.

Temperament ;; Niju is a very militant and arrogant wolf, fully willing to break the rules of the land and steal for what he desired, though seemingly doing so because of the desire to live. He was also shown to suffer from a fear of change (cainotophobia) which probably caused his cruel actions as Nava claimed that Niju would willingly starve or die than leave his homeland.

She was born to a wolf mother and husky father. Unlike her brother, Balto, Adri never longed to live as, or be accepted by the town dogs. The wild had always called her. Before she and her brother parted ways, Adri warned him that he was making a fatal mistake in not following her to live in the wild with the pack of wolves when they called.
When news went around that he was the hero of the town, Adri grew jealous of him, fuming that she had been proven wrong.
After that, she has made it her life's task to take Balto down a peg or two.

The only pup of his litter, Boris had always been more of a lone wolf than a pack one. After growing up with his pack, he grew restless, longing for solitude across the icy lands. Once he was old enough, Boris left and travelled until he reached Nome, where he settled down in an abandoned ship.
One day, while out hunting, Boris found two pups all by themselves, and brought them back with him. He raised them as best as he could, watching with despair as Adris and Balto seemed to be growing further and further apart. When Adris left, his heart broke, but he knew it was time to let her strike out on her own.
He has always been Balto's most trusted confidant, and supports him in anything he needs to do. He trusts Balto with his life and problems, and loves him as though he were his own son.
