it said she was a herd mare in inferno plains, and onyx only had one mare far as i knew so it seemed she would be in his herd

No, she was a free roamer basically. She was in Corus' herd, but to be honest, Frenzy never even met up with her. I guess he can come and take her though, seeing as she's not a part of the herd.
