Gales rushed through his pelt as he lingered through the terrain, the mist rising up upon his burly pillars. Mists swirled around his slender bodice as he tread, for the terrain knew him and he knew it. To a cliff he dragged himself, looking about over his homeland with awe and marveling the perfection that had been theirs so many years. Ever since his love had returned, their days had been pure bliss, and he promised himself that the day would never come when they were separated. When she died, Flame knew that he, too would perish into the dust and blood. They no longer had what they were born with, for they had not only endured much but lost much in the process of growing up. But in that process, they had found each other.

No longer was he the innocent colt she had fallen in love with, for now he had grown in more ways than one into a handsome stag. Their feelings had grown stronger through time and distance, and now they were finally at peace with themselves. Serenity lingered in his soul for the first time since she had left. Finally, he felt as if he was settling into his own skin - now, there was someone to protect, something worth living for, for once.

With his mind, he called, for they hardly needed words to speak their minds physically. She could always feel him around her, even when he was not, and the same surely went for him. They had healed together after her return, and only she knew what played on the edges of his mind now.

Flame's pelt glimmered in the moonlight, as if sparkled upon him and the rippling waters at the bottom of the largest waterfall. Each footfall reminded him of the time when they were young and juvenile...and their hearts sparkled like small fish in the ocean. His pounded as he awaited her, enjoying the feel of the air in his nostrils. For once, he was totally at ease, even though he knew that the storm brewing on the horizon with Frenzy was not a friendly one. Surely, they would both survive this battle, though, to see another day. Surely, they would help those fighting to make the world a better place even if her powers were partially diminished.

He wanted to tell himself that everything was fine, but the truth of the matter was that something had been taken from her when she returned. He wanted to give it back to her. Only the gods knew he wished for a daughter of his own as well...

As if their hearts called to one another, the small boned fae paced towards the mighty stallion who owned her soul, her very being. The only reason she struggled to still exsist and not pass into the warmth of the black void, leaving the issues of the modern world far behind.

Their love was strong, the bond growing stronger then ever as each day of healing past. Even without the magic of her long-gone horn.

"Flame," she whispered, vocals soft and tender as they floated over the tumbling wind as she siddled up beside him, soft nose nuzzling his tall shoulder with a sigh "what plays on your mind, my love. I can sense your thoughts, they flutter around more then the birds of the north."

She flashed a small grin, nudging him in an almost playful manner. It as almost as if she was herself once more, but the loss still could be seen in the depths of her endless, blue orbs.

"Speak my dear, for words are words," she murmuered, words gentle once more as she peered up at his tall mass "and whatever you say I am sure I shall agree."

She sighed once more, shifting her slight weight to lean against him. Waiting for him to voice the words upon his mind.

Massive strides had separated them at one time, where the fragments of their hearts were the only thing that begged that each of them was still alive and that life itself was not in vain. Today, only steps separated them, little foot-plods through the mist would take him to her. His orbs gleamed as he saw the outline of her bodice rushing to him, the sweet aroma of her pallid pelt seeping into his nostrils and intoxicating him so that he could hardly think of the topic his mind had been fluttering upon previously. Her breath was his only life, for he would have surely jumped to his rocky doom if she had not come and rescued his heart and soul.

Flame turned to face her completely, the light playing upon his dark features easily as he thought of the words to say. Sometimes words could not transfer feelings to someone else; saying 'I love you' to someone couldn't just show them. They had to believe the words you say to actually make them meaningful and true. Surely, she must have known that he cared for her immensely and would travel to the end of the earth to see her beautiful features and to hear her voice speak to him.

"There has been a lot on my mind, as of late. One of those things....is our child, the one that has not been born yet," he said softly, not wanting to be too direct for her in case she was not ready for something such as that. Although he accepted Marcan as their son without objection and loved him the same as he would love any of his children, some part of him still longed to know what half of her mixed with half of him would be like. Perhaps, he was not thinking about her best welfare, and he scolded himself for such a thought - he would accept whatever she wanted to do. She held the key to his heart, and he would never disrespect her.

Her delicate frame seemed almost breakable next to his strong build, she sheltered herself into his side, loving the protectiveness and warmth he offered. As if he was the only one that could warm her soul.

The dainty harks flickered towards him, waiting for his words to finally leave him and wondered what had him so..nervous? She had never seen her strong mate act so, passionate and loving yes but never a flash of nerves.

Her ivy orbs half closed, allowing the deep lulling of his tones call to her as she listening closely. Only to flicker wide at his words, unable to stop a small gurgle of laughter escape her before she stifled it and a hesitance once more echoed throughout her form.

A foal? Oh how she had longed one before she had been taken. Every day she imagined what it would be like to be round with their child, to have a small daughter and teach her the way her mother had taught her. All the while with a loving, caring and gentle mate at her side.

But now? The words stabbed fear into her heart, memories she had worked so hard to suppress and lock away coming to the forefront of her mind, a shiver echoing her spine as she pressed herself more tightly into his warm side.

"I..." she whispered hesitantly, internally scolding herself for being so silly. Flame loved her and would never harm her so "I would love to have a child with you."

But there was a worry behind her words, unsure if she would be able to cope with the memories of her past.

Like a mighty rock, brazen yet weathered to the core by storms and blizzards, he would stand beside her unbroken and strong like granite. She was the only one who could build up the stag...and she was the only one who could break him. Without her, he had felt broken - without a single meaning in the world to his name, without a single song that filled his soul delicately with laughter.

Flame's bodice was tense, oh so tense as he awaited her reply to his words. They had come out with such a struggle, a fight so that he wondered if he was even saying them correctly. Quietly, he awaited. Were his...pillars shaking out of pure anticipation? Perhaps, some loves were so strong that even when he would know her answer, it would still worry him until all oblivion whether or not she was ready. Of course, if she was not ready, he respected that more than he did the earth herself. Something told him that she was not as convinced as she sounded though. As worrisome as it was, she had monsters of the past to defeat just as anyone else did...and they would defeat them together.

"I am overjoyed, my love!" he exclaimed, his dark orbs full of glee as they had been upon their meeting. His dark muzzle caressed the shimmering pelt of her neck as he nuzzled her lightly, gently. Resting his skull upon her withers, he sighed happily. "I feel luckier than all, just to be able to spend time with you again," he murmured, standing in the warm sunlight as the breezes swept over their forms.

Though his words were convincing and he was so very excited to have a child of their own...something tugged at his own heart. Expression growing serious, he stepped back from her a moment. "Are you sure you are ready for this?" he asked, hoping to give her a second thought about the whole thing. Flame would never hurt her, and if this was going to hurt her, it would have to wait.
