The sound of hooves made things impossible to stay peaceful at the moment. Foal foals galloped towards Sanctuary of the Solo, well, had an odd shuffle to her run, as she was missing the lower half of one of her front legs. One might have thought they were playing, but to the foals, this was one gallop that was no fun at all.

The filly with the missing leg was the furtherest behind, though her half brother, a dun colt, stayed beside her the whole way. Directly in front of them, a black filly and a bay colt with a red head galloped. Those two were leading the way. Soon the two leaders were in the safety of the sanctuary.

"Come on Cobalt!" called the bay colt.
"Come on Ness," called the black filly.

Both of them could see that their sister was tiring. At last though, Cobalt and Prancers Ness made it into the trees, and they watched as the men seemed to stop, unable to enter after them.

"We'll get you, you little devils," one of them shouted, brandishing his fist at them.

The foals moved on, a lot slower this time, into the place they felt safe.
Soon all of them were tired, and they tumbled to the ground, unable to sleep. What were they going to do? How were they meant to survive without their mother's?

Scar

I walked though the trees enjoying my time away from being the queen of my herd but i liked the herd life somewhat better. I stopped to listen to what was around me when i heard very faintly the beats of young horses galloping and the heavier ones of horses being ridden by men. The young ones might need help so i moved at a trot to the sound of a mans voice then stopped when i did not hear them anymore. I listen again to what was around me and then walked near the edge of the trees until i found four sets of little feet although in one there was only three.

I looked at the tracks then trotting followed the tracks until i saw the foals up ahead. I moved quicker then stopped as i got a bit closer "Hello" i said kindly and looked at them. Two fillies and two colts, one was black with four socks on her legs, one was a bright dun colt with purple eyes and typical dun markings on his legs, nose, mane and tail, one was bay colt, though with a red head, and white mane and tail and the last one was a palomino filly with a missing leg.

Three of the foals leapt to their feet quickly as a big mare came towards them. The bay foal lowered his head, helping their sister up. There was no chance they were going to let this other character hurt her if there was any malice in her. While Prancer's Grace couldn't run, she could still fight if needed, though her brothers and sister didn't want her getting hurt.
"Who are you?" asked Cobalt, stepping forwards from his siblings. He was the oldest, and though Prancers Ness was the second oldest, she seemed the youngest because of her disability.

Andromeda

* I'll be your star *
*All through the night*

Wind brushed through her lucidly flowing curly tassels as delicate harks moved forward and back, as if to sense an a certain presence. Delicate pillars grazed the countryside without second thoughts. Pure ivory tresses from behind swept the ground with grace and certainty, flowing with the beautiful bodice that glimmered in the sun. Utter perfection was she, from her perfectly tapered nostrils to her expressive blue orbs. Slender pillars laced with ivory shone in the broad daylight, their soft radiance standing out against the mud-stained hocks of some of the others. Swirls of all types caressed her form, shining outwardly in the broad daylight but more so at night. Stars...all the constellations appeared upon her ebony back, representing the night that she brought. Such lovely darkness, welcome to the soul.

Why, though, would the perfect queen come to such a place of sorrow and dismay? Well, the answer was simpler than you would think. Life gave her options, presented choices to her - being the goddess of all things celestial, it was wiser to listen to herself than others. Andromeda found that she was to be given something, a small gift of a sort. Gifts were never what they at first seemed, though - she had always been well aware of that. Things that looked so small were sometimes the decision between life and death for someone at some time, and that was, to her, significant. Whether it was the small grasshoppers that pounced around her silver daggers or the young foals that scampered around their mothers, it was still sacred and pure.

Damp was the ground, for the sky had been crying her tears of woe and heart break upon the silent land recently. Rolling hills of nothingness appealed to her light orbs. Few trees stood out in the land, but there were plenty of gentle flowing rivers intercepting each other at some given point. Dogwood trees blossomed their ivory flowers, fluttering down in her tresses as she passed by. How still life was, though. Some here were lovers mourning over their dead mates, mares crying themselves to sleep, shivering at the thought of their home being taken. These cases were all the same, filled with shame and misery. Out of the blue, though, stood four younglings and a mare. She was the purest of alabaster, and her name immediately popped into the mind of the goddess. Scar it echoed, but she would give the ivory fae a chance to introduce herself. Wait - so, she was going over there? When did that pop into her head? It had to be fate.

"Greetings," she said quietly, in a collected manner as she stood before them. "I am Andromeda," she replied. Of course, they didn't know who she was unless they had heard tale of her. They were just youths, though; there was no need for them to know current matters. One was a bright bay colt with crimson lacing his skull, standing beside a dun colt. Two fillies followed - too, an ebony one with four ivory socks and a golden one who lacked an appendage. Andromeda felt her heart break for these poor suffering foals - they looked like they had been through so much. She just had to help them. Quietly, she tread up to the ebony filly, the one named Garnet. "You are special, my dear," she mused, trying not to scare her with the notion. It was such a wonderful gift she possessed, one that the council leader, Callisto, had himself.

Cobalt watched as another mare seemed to appear out of nowhere before them. "I'm Cobalt, and these are my sisters, Garnet and Prancers Ness. My brother is Starlight," he said. His purple eyes were careful, always watching, as was his mind. If danger came then he would know about it.
It had only been a week since they had all stopped needing their mother's milk, but they were slowly growing up. “Umm, its nice to meet you, Andromeda.”

Grace chose to speak now, knowing that she had to. “I know I have a gift, but I only use it when needed. I don't like using it, feels like I'm prying with someone.” She shook her black head in disquiet. Why had they come here? She knew that Andromeda, seemed to pity them, but it was the odd thing for four foals to be on their lonesome.
It was clear that the other mare was not part of their herd.

“This is a sad place,” Starlight added. “I can feel it around us,” he added for the two mares. “It's a little weird for me.”

Prancers Ness, knowing that there was no immediate danger, tumbled to the ground again. She was the weakest, and usually the others spoke for her.

Scar

I watched as the young ones jumped up and the bay help the palamino with three legs up. I watched them a little longer when they asked who i was, i was about to say my name when another mare came towards the foals and i. I watched her then siged as she greeted all of us and said her name so i shoke my head and said my own "greetings as well i am Scar" stopped before looking to the foals " i have power or gift that could be used agansted you i am normal" i said to the younger ones.

I looked at them as Cobalt said his name and his borthers and sisters names. I looked at them as they three of them spoke. Starlightsaid this place was a sad one, that he could feel it and that it was weird for him "this place may seem so but its were us mares come for a little alone time if us with herds are alowed" i said to him then turned my head to Prancers Ness who had tumbled to the ground. i sighed then laied down myself as i was lower to the ground and as i was laying down i hoped it would make the foals fell a little safer.

"I guess it's because we shouldn't be out here alone without our mothers." Cobalt sighed. "But then again, we cannot return to our herd, they were taken by the men from us, even our father." He was the one who seemed more at ease talking to the two mares than the rest of them seemed to be. Then again, he was the oldest.

They were all tired, they knew that another run like that could have been the end of them. "I heard a sound like thunder, though there wasn't a cloud in the sky and we all bolted in this direction. The men chased us the whole way."

Scar

i listened to him speak about that they shouldn't be alone with out their mothers and that they were taken by men and as was their farther "maybe very well that and your mothers and father would all want you safeand were you are now, you are safe " i said knowing they were here but the thing was much more was going on around here then it seemed, out side this land was horses of evil and good. And that evil was starting to try and rasie up. I looked at them knowing many horses were cuaght by men and these four in coming here had excaped but only just.

Looking at them seeing young foals tired like this with out their mothers and only themself for company. I listened to what he said then sisghed "the sound like thunder could have come from a mens gun and bolting this way was a good for men don't come here" i said to him still laying down. I turned my head to Prancers Ness once again and spoke "how do you cope with your leg, the way it is" i asked her hpoing she herself would asker and not her brothers or sister.

"It's not easy being like this. I've grown used to it though, happened when I was only a few days old, so you can guess I've grown up like this. No one saw the wolf until it was too late though to save my leg." She snorted sadly. "It may make things harder for me than anyone else, but that is something I can contend with."

She had been at the moment. There was nothing that the others did that she couldn't do because she lost her leg and they had not. "I'm just as strong as all the others are when it comes to doing things with the others as they all are."

All through the night
I'll be your star
Gingerly, the one who had lived as long as time had, shook her skull delicately, porcelain tresses fell over her features. Still, her beautiful blue orbs shone, her delicate maw smiling slightly. Easily, she stood, relaxed, her crown staying at a low, even level as the youth spoke to her. So early had she the makings of a true benefit to society, someone that would add to the kindness of the world with her help. "We cannot be afraid of what we truly are," she said softly. So many times growing up as an mortal, she fretted that she wouldn't live up to the expectations that the gods had set by her. Andromeda's earth parents hadn't understood her nor believed her. Insolent child! You are no god they would shout. If only they could see.

"You must use your talent when you wish. If someone is suspicious, use your gift. Promise me," she spoke in soft tones as she looked down at the ebony filly. Andromeda chuckled in her mind at the thought of how similar her and the great council leader were in appearance - attitude too, if the youth would come to her spacious home and learn of the arts. One could be talented in powers they weren't gifted with. Andromeda, herself, had been taught about the camouflage of night. Already, she could see the filly would be good at that! After all, she was the hue of a starless midnight.

Andromeda's form glimmered in the sunlight as she showed her invisibility momentarily. "Sorry about that," she chuckled casually, intelligence radiating from her light blue orbs. "I mustn't have told you what I am," she paused, regaining her regal stature as she looked down upon the young filly. "I am the goddess of all Celestial things," she admitted. Some young ones would be fearful of one in her position, but she was as kind as the spring dew drops, the waving blades of grass in the wind.

"I've already used it twice, begging your pardon, ma'm on both you and Scar. I didn't trust you both at all, when first I saw you."

"Nor did I," Cobalt added. "Seeing you two appear so suddenly was not something that boded well at first for either of us. My talent activated as well upon sight of you." No danger had he sensed though, and that was a good thing. he knew his siblings were sick of running, especially Ness.

"So where are you from, and why did you come over here?" Starlight asked, curiously. It was clear that he was learning that they were safe to talk to. Some things he was a little slow about but this was not one of them, normally.

All through the night
I'll be your star

Andromeda chuckled, knowing that her aura must have kicked in to display only the good things in her life for the young filly to see as truth. It wasn't best to scar one so young with secrets of olden times until she had tasted the world for herself a bit. The one who seemed so calm and serene was a facade, for many terrible things laid under her skin yet found no way to reach her soul. Purity came from innocence - it was an impossibility for experience and its opposites to exist together in harmony within one form. Higher roads appealed to the one crafted from the silvery stars, so experience and knowledge were her partners. Andromeda knew that the sacred knowledge had not perplexed these young minds, though. They were vulnerable to be such amazing creatures or terrible beasts of the night, depending upon who took care of them.

"I wouldn't hurt you," said the goddess, her mysterious, lyrical tones lightly caressing the wind. The goddess was fair, a maiden at heart that simply wanted to please her subjects - never finding herself irate with even the largest of blunders. Sighing, her tresses fell to the side of her beautiful, light orbs as pain showed itself for the first time. There was no denying that she loved her ebony and porcelain hued king, but she could not bare his young but every five years. "I long for a youth of my own, yet I cannot obtain it for at least four solstices," Andromeda said neutrally, explaining her dilemma.

Curiosity was a good sign, she had learned from her time studying earth from her beauteous god palace in the sky. So much had she learned about these young creatures, knew how they longed for guardians. "I hail from Black Sands, young ones. I am queen of the land, along with my beloved, Walker," she softly smiled at the mention of his calling. It brought back all the memories of times they had spent together, those beautiful nights on the beaches where the aurora borealis shone brightly overhead.

Shaking her skull slightly, she acknowledged the fact that she didn't know the answer to the last question asked. "Destiny called me. It sometimes happens to those who have a good sense of intuition," she smiled wryly as she looked down upon them. Andromeda didn't know how else to explain it other than true fate. What other reason would have made her just 'happen' to wander onto Black Sands at the time Walker claimed it? It had to be destiny, fate, so pure and gentle. It knew not, and they knew not what would happen as time passed them by. Did anyone?

Garnet knew that she liked Andromeda at the moment, more than she did Scar. It looked as though she would be happy to run with her at the moment. Even if she was what she said she was, there was nothing about her that she was all that concerned about. They had been trhough hard times, but now, it looked as though their futures were brighter now.
"I would like to learn more of the things I can do," she said softly.
