A second chance at life [open] Empty
PostSubject: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptyFri Feb 11 2011, 18:00

A tall and powerful horse moved through the woods, seeking those who were worthy of him. He wanted to rebuild his land, and regain the things that he had lost because of his bad natured brother. Kula was a bright golden champagne stallion with a stripe on his nose and one white sock. His mane and tail were darker by a few shades than his body. There was nothing special about him really, but he knew that there were some things that you couldn't have.

Stopping by the river, he drank for a few moments, listening to all the creatures around him. Would anyone come to him?

A second chance at life [open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptyFri Feb 11 2011, 19:04

They had parted ways, the sisters. At long last, after many years of travelling together, laughing together, crying together, they had decided to make their home here, in this land, and travel separately to find their destiny.

They had wandered around this land for some time, debating the benefits and the cons of residing here. They went to many different lands, though they mostly kept to themselves, not revealing themselves to others.

Light and Dark. Evil and good. Mercy and cruelty. Who is to see which is which? Who is to say what forms good shall take? Is it true that all those who are pure of heart shall have beautiful, sweet appearances?

Nyx entered the lush lands after saying goodbye to her sister and her best friend. The fae had been named after the Goddess of Night, with her pelt black as midnight. Flames licked up her pillars and small embers flickered in her nostrils. Many did not dare to speak to her, let alone look at her once they caught a glimpse of her ferocious appearance. However, if they had looked into her coal-black orbs, they would have seen nothing but good nature and kindness. Sadly, many did not.

So here she was, moving restlessly from one end of the land to the other. There were others here, but none had taken the initiative to approach her, and she doubted that they would take to it kindly if she approached them.

Moving to the river, she sighed forlornly, staring down into her rippling reflection. It was at times like this, when she truly missed her sister.

He bounded through the woods, knowing that there were some who would not know him at the moment. Nmost wouldn’t really, seeing as this was his first day here in Freedoms Palace. Sighing, he moved along, only to stop when he saw a fae. He was stunned into silence. She was exactly as his queen had been. He had to know her.

Moving forwards he stopped nearby. “Greetings,” he said, softly.

PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptyWed Feb 23 2011, 17:32

Home,
No more home to me
Wither must I wander?

Hunger my driver
I go where I must
Cold blows the winter wind
Over hill and heather

Thick,
Drives the rain
And my roof
Is in the dust

Pan shaped daggers padded lightly upon the fallen snow, the thick creamy pelt shining under the dim, cascading winter sun. Porcelain touched pillars galloped evenly, trudging through the brush and frozen puddles that hid themselves deep beneath the protection of the snow. Wind, her sweetest friend, danced under her long, fine tresses as they flew up and down, bouncing with each lucid stride. It had always been there for her, through thick and thin - it even helped her sometimes. How could she, though, a simple fae from the Irish peace be blessed with such a gift?

Music appealed to her tiny harks, which moved about, constantly hearing the music of life surrounding her simple heart. Still, the vixen could hear the soft bubbling of creeks within her homeland. Sonatina could still smell the irises in full bloom, their dark violet hue decorating the land with feral beauty.

Mists swirled around her nostrils as she breathed in, fog emitting from her pink nostrils as she exhaled the frigid air. They circled about several times before disappearing into the unknown like everything else seemed to do in life. Could it be possible that they were all connected to one another? After all, they lived on the same breath and shed the same red blood. Everyone cried the same tears....they felt the same pain all through the years. How were they not conjoined? Light and dark were one, if the fair creatures of the world would open their eyes to the beauty around them.

Around her, the hellion clouded around their own kind, sharing tales of victory and relishing in the memories of their heritage, while the unicorns stayed close, healing the woes of each other and feeling their pain as one. One's hidden pain became someone else's hope and joy, they found a reason to live, if not to cure the burdens of life. It was impossible...but not a terrible thought.

Love for music was the only feeling that lived in her petite creamy bodice, but there was plenty of room for other emotion. The music was her only meaning - it was her only friend at times when the world seemed to be such a cold and unforgiving place. It took her back to the day when everything was fine, when the life seemed so much more simple. How to achieve that simplistic feeling again? Both she and the wind knew the answer to that, no matter how much denial was involved in the decision. Love. It was the only way out - it was the only way in.

A glimpse of light golden hues caught her bright blue orbs, but Sonatina wouldn't dare approach. It wasn't because she was afraid of this particular stag. Sonatina had never been the nervous type. The reason why she remained in silence, though, was because she wanted to see him without words. Her friend told her that he was fine, but she wanted to see it for herself. What did he have to prove? Everything.

Loved of wise men
Was the shade of my roof tree
The true word of welcome was broken in the door

Dear days of old
With their faces in the firelight
Kind folks of old
You come again no more...

PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptyWed Feb 23 2011, 17:43

He looked away from the other mare that he ahd found for only a moment, his eyes easily picking out the one watching him from a little way away. Looking back to the one he had greeted, he said, "Excuse me for a few moments, miss. I'll be back in a minute or so." He knew that this... newcomer wanted to watch him at the moment, not that he needed watching.

Turning his whole body now, he moved slowly towards the one who watched him silently. She was an interesting colour, a creamy unlike his golden champagne coat. There were few things that were enough to draw him to her at the moment. She seemed to be just watching him. Not something he had ever been used to. Then again, he was in strange lands here, and where he was from things were very different.

He hoped though that he would be able to talk to her as well, seeing as the other had been silent for some time now. He had the time, he was sure to talk to this new mare as well. She he was sure would talk to him if he spoke first. "Greetings, ma'am. I am Kula, a stranger to these parts. And you are?" He knew it was not the best of greetings but where he came from, there was usually a scond stallion with him.

A second chance at life [open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptyFri Feb 25 2011, 17:50

Those deep sea hued orbs peered at him with slight amusement, relishing this moment of being in the spotlight. Over the years, she had been deprived of being the center of attention. Now, though, she craved it in a slight manner, enjoying the attention she was receiving at the moment over some of the loners that stood in the gathering mist. Deep orbs wished to know him, longed to know something more than she currently did, but what was to know? If they were all no more less than others, then how should she know if he was more or less? What a confusing situation she was upon.

"Lijep.." she murmured so softly in her tongue that he wouldn't possibly hear her beautiful lyrics dancing softly on the breeze. It was difficult to understand why the golden stag would leave a potential lover to come and speak to her, the one who spoke with the wind. In her own way, the fae that wished to accompany him was beautiful, at least her soul was. How obvious it was that lightness shone in her deepened pelt, deep within in flames and so called monstrosity was pure beauty, to show to the world. Could he open his heart wide enough to feel the small touches and hear the small hints that truly talented observers only saw? Who was this stag, and why did she want to know so much?

Realizing he spoke to her, she tensed momentarily before regaining her words and clearing her throat pridefully. If one thing was true, it was the perfectly obvious fact that Sonatina wasn't shy. "Greetings, sir.." she replied gracefully, swiftly tucking her delicate skull under her short pillar in almost a melodic fashion. Raising her skull, her sea blue orbs contained a twinkle of delight, sheer curiosity. Laughter settled in them, dancing around like fireflies in the night.

Kisses from butterflies caressed her cremello pelt, even in the icy cold of the winter when they laid far below the ground. They awaited their freedom, just as she awaited love. Everything was connected, in some small way or another.

Nearby, it seemed as if the constant cold had lifted for a bit, and you could hear the bubbling of the river beginning to run over the silvery ice. As the day trudged on, it seemed as if more life joined it. More lovers were found, and more small forest creatures bustled at her petite bodice. Why were they not afraid of the fae? It had to be because she was nature, herself - in the most beautiful form possible. A horse.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Kula," the creamy replied, nodding her skull in confirmation. It truly was nice to meet someone other than the bits of darkness that lurked around in the shadows. Every bit of her personality shone out, just like her particularly beautiful voice. It was high, yet melodic in its wonderful legato patterns, the fluctuation of pitch as she spoke lyrically. Sonatina paused a moment before she smiled and spoke again. "I am Sonatina...." she replied. "Do you seek love....or hate, a friend, enemy, or lover?" Sonatina asked, a precious expression coming over her features. "I can fill any of those roles" she mentioned, softly, her sea blue orbs glowing with light and simplicity.

As he looked upon her, he knew that what she saw marring the beauty of his coat was many battle scars. Even with the scars of his past showing clearly upon his pelt, he knew that inside he was a lot worse than he looked. He seemed cheerful enough but underneath he would always mourn those that his brother’s betrayal had taken from him. He’d lost his closest friend, and his lover.

“I seek to rebuild that which was stolen from me, not so very long ago. I come from lands long from here, and much more different than others here would know. Here I see that brothers split up when they grow to adult hood, as do sister’s most of the time. Where I came from that wasn’t so. Brothers became pairs, both protectors of one herd, though they had their own mares in that herd which would not be touched by the other. They saw each other as equals and were trusted with their brother’s mares.”

He sighed, thinking of the past. “It was that way for my, not so long ago. But when the threat of men came once last spring, it was I who left to go see where the men were and what they were doing. I had to rush back to the herd; I could hear my mares calling for me anxiously. When I returned, all I saw was slaughter. Of the ten mares I had left behind in the safety of my brother Staramboli’s presence, only one was alive. My old queen. She was barely though, and she died, just as I reached her.”

This was not easy for him to talk to her of, but any mare that he met who wanted to be with him, had to know his story, so they knew just what they were joining with.

“I knew, the moment I looked at Staramboli, that he was the one who had done that to my mares, and my foals. It filled me with such rage, that I retaliated the same way at him, killing off those who loved him for what he was. We fought, though I had not neglected to notice that one of my daughter’s, my queen’s last foal was not among the dead. Neither of us can beat the other, we are too strong and too well matched, which was why our father paired us up.”

He looked at the mare now. “I am sorry for sharing my life story with you, but it is only fair that you know. Since I did what I did, I have never stopped looking for my daughter I want to know that she is... safe and alive. Would you accept me, after knowing the things that I have done? Knowing that if I was to find out Staramboli was here as well, that it would cause` a fight to the death? And perhaps a massacre like before?”

A second chance at life [open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptyTue Mar 22 2011, 08:51

Imaginations always ran wild when onlookers tried to envision their own versions of tales, so she hardly tried. On nema smisla her mind rummaged through words peacefully as she solemnly looked past his past and onward to his future. They both had scars, mentally and physically, but it still didn't seem to affect their appearance, at least in her point of view. He was....beautiful. But, again, why were her interests vaguely focused upon him?

"You have not been stolen from...but things that you would naturally hold dear have been misplaced. Love is still apart of your life, even though you haven't found someone to share it with yet. There is more to love than a being, itself. I hold a love for music...and I'm sure you love your home," Sonatina flashed him a slight smile, amused by his words of doubt and hopelessness. Hope was what you made it out to be, whether it was a land that you called home or a young foal that one held his heart's desires in. "Brothers are bound together, naturally anyways. It seems like a logical rule," she chuckled, her delicate chest bouncing and a bell like sound emerging from her soft lips.

Sonatina heard his next words, and they silenced her momentarily as she regained her words and tread forward in their conversation. How to address this....she wondered, pausing to brush her small dagger back and forth slowly in the grass. "Her form died, but you have her spirit in your heart. It sings like music on a rainy day, you just have to reach deep within yourself and find it in a new form. Life repeats itself, but only you have the power to control the future," she whispered, bright blue orbs filled with truth and knowing. Music led her to believe that all life was sacred. Life was hard and could be like a living hell where the ground you walked upon bursts in to flames in a hypothetical manner. It had low notes and high notes, just like a Sonatina.

Was he trying to run her off, with his words? The mind that stood in her tiny skull thought of why he would tell her this story but noticed that he wanted her to know the truth. "The truth may hurt at first but hurts less in the end, Kula," Sonatina whispered, orbs locked on his. It was her metaphorical form of telling him she didn't care about the past. "The past may inflict hurt on your personality...but it will not change. Sweetness comes from within," Sonatina said, a smile tugging at the edges of her lips.

Obje su u krivu Sonatina's mind said again, clarifying the obvious in her native language. "Do not dwell on the past, for it leads only to a path of destruction..." and she left it at that. Perhaps, he would understand her words and take them as she wished him to. There wasn't much to tell about her, other than things she had seen from wandering the summers away.

He sighed. “I know I may find her once more, but when that shall be I wish I knew. I've searched a long time for one like my old queen, but I've never truly found her. Many appear like her in body, but they are never anything like her in persona.”

He looked at her though at her words. “I do not wish to push away those who may speak to me, but I wish for them to know my past. Therefore they know what has happened which I have regretted. I still do not believe I really did kill all those mares, but I know I did out of rage at my brother. Something I hope never to feel again.”

A second chance at life [open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptySun Jan 13 2013, 14:13

There was always hope in one's heart when it came to a missing half of themselves, but one could not truly find that half unless they gave up on one venture and looked to another. Dwelling on the past would only bring sorrow and dismay, and perhaps that is why she was truly a cheerful being. For one his age, the young stag seemed very wise past his years and willing to look forward in life. Of course, it was a horrid loss...but one could not feel pain forever. "Few are truly beautiful, Kula. Ones that are beautiful on the outside are sometimes hostile on the inside. I have come to know that over the years," she said softly, her bell like voice floating between them. "Her song is still within you, I can tell," she said, a small smile upon her features.

Her tiny form was quaking with excitement as she spoke with him. Ne mogu se sjetiti oko njega she thought silently and added in her mind that it was jer on uzima mi dah. It was true. Sonatina's creamy form felt breathless when she was around him, for he was so wise and kinder than any before him had ever been to her. To a stranger, his story and song may have seemed frightening - but she was no longer a stranger to them. They were now one like the earth and the sky. Two of the same, yet two different.

"You did what you must," she said, her orbs gleaming with hope as she looked to him. "Sometimes we do not mean to do things....they just happen. As the days go on, we shall make mistakes. I have made some in my life," she said. "And surely," she paused tentatively, looking down and away for a moment before turning her blue eyes back to him. "I hope you do not push me away because I really enjoy your company. Actually....I don't know what I would have done today if I hadn't spoken to you," she said, smiling as she took a tiny step closer. He had brought the sun to her life today and made it brighter. Small things could sometimes change the entire mood of one's day. Yet, she never let one horrid day carry on to the next day. Tomorrow could always bring sunshine. And it had.

Kula nodded at her words. “That is very true what you say,” he replied. He sighed as he looked at her. “Though that does not mean that I can easily live with the guilt that I killed so many innocent mares, Sonatina.”

He was startled by the words about him possibly trying to push her away. That was something he had not been expecting to hear from her at all. Had he been? “I merely ask that those who join me, know what I have done in the past, and what may happen again if I see Staramboli again.” He sighed. It was no easy burden to keep for him.

PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptySun Feb 10 2013, 17:15

Remembering the past was the only reason that most of them did not forget what had occurred and lived on without acknowledging the past. It could not be altered - and certainly, one was not judged for it in every crevice of the earth in every aspect of life. A life for a life, so they said. Some lives were not greater than others even though some had better minds than others. This did not mean they were not to be given the right to live, but what was done was done, and surely, in his situation she knew that she might have done the same thing as he did.

"I hold nothing against you, Kula," she said knowing that unexpected things happened and that there was nothing that creatures could do about them but grow. She hadn't done anything that would be considered 'bad' in the eyes of the gods. Yet, she had not led the most faithful life for standing up for others. One time, she walked right on by after a child had been beaten by her mother...and promised herself she would never turn a blind eye again.

Pausing a moment, she took a step closer to him. "I hope we don't see him. You or I. Something I would like to see is your land though, if you'll show me," she said, letting the words she dared not to say to anyone before slip from her lips. Musical and delightful was her tone but her words spoke of something more serious than that of which they had already spoke of - the future of them. What was their future? Was in the beautiful lands that he had spoke of or would they travel the world and meet kings of all great places? Sonatina thought their future looked bright, but if there was a war coming, the petite mare knew that they would endure for another day.

He sighed listening to her words once more. He knew that some horses were able to accept others faults but he knew that others were not. Very few he had met were interested in talking to him, let alone going back to his herd with him. There were no mares there at this point of his own.

"Thunder Meadows is where I dwell these days, and far from where my brother is, though I have the feeling another confrontation between him and my self is inevitable eventually. Hopefully by then I wont be so evenly matched to him."

A second chance at life [open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A second chance at life [open]   A second chance at life [open] EmptyTue Feb 26 2013, 12:57

Somehow, the delicate, gentle fae was sure of herself that the decision to go to his homeland with him was the correct one. Perhaps, it was the gold upon his pelt that shone so brightly in the evening sun to her or that vague smile that always seemed to be plastered upon his features so perfectly.

Were they all to be crucified for the flaws that they possessed? None of them were perfect, and some of them were less perfect than others. Some had lied, stolen, or killed...or maybe they had dishonored their family, even if it was accidental. Sometimes, one could not hold someone accountable for that which they committed under horrid circumstances, and she believed in her heart that he didn't mean to hurt anyone. Gentleness was evident in his eyes, and a light spirit was easily identifiable when she looked to him.

Reassuringly, she nudged his shoulder, as if to tell him that his time of being alone was coming to an end very quickly. Surely, her time of being alone in solitude would come to an end as well, as a home was the safest place for a small, beautiful fae as her.

"Thunder Meadow sounds very beautiful, Kula," she said sweetly, grinning widely, broadly. Never in her life had she been so confident around a stag she had never met before, but this one seemed to give her the boost she needed to be calm and careful in all aspects of life. With time, they would be molded together as a family would be, relying on each other for support through the hard times and the good times.

Although they lived far away from his evil sounding brother, she knew that one day they would meet in confrontation. "You know I would fight by your side if you needed my help," she said hopefully. There was not much she, as small as she was, could do, but she would be more than willing to help him in any way possible.

Finally, she had decided. She wanted to go to see his land, but how could she tell him? Maybe, she would wait a moment for his response and try to ask him in the most subtle way possible.

Kula snorted at the very idea of her fighting against his brother. “I believe that fight would only be between Staramboli and myself.” Though knowing his brother, well, he would try and do anything to cause trouble for him. That was something Staramboli could be counted on to do.

He snorted though as he felt eyes on his golden hide from behind him. Warily he turned his head, gave a somewhat challenging neigh. There was no answer, and he knew that it could only be his brother who was watching through the trees. Probably scheming something as well. that was not good at all.
