Everything was a blur, life just a spectacle of what it had once been. At least Flower was still with her, floating above her like a good frog would normally do. Sometimes the spoke, yet the creatures the dwelled around her seemed freaked out when they would have their long conversations about life. It wasn't like she was talking to herself or anything! "So what do you want to do today, Flower?" she asked happily. In her mind, the floating frog said,"Today is the day to find a mate, but I wouldn't tell them about me. They wouldn't understand," said Flower.

Ilana nodded her skull and carried on her travels. Actually, she was quite beautiful, with crystal blue eyes and a bright red pelt. It was simple beauty, as her thin ivory pillars tread lightly through the muddy areas of the river. It had just finished raining about this terrain just as she arrived, and the birds chirped with gladness that there was finally new water. She lapped at a mud puddle, panting as she continued on.

The trees spoke to her and told her to go on a bit further, but she soon became quite fatigued. Laying down, she rolled in the sweet grass as moonlight rolled upon her. This was the life, one with no worries. "You shall find one who is like you, one who is different," Flower told her. This was something she had already known deep within, though. Ilana hoped that soon he would come along, for she was not of the patient type - and the excitement of meeting someone new was too much. She smiled to herself, admiring the stars of the heavens.

ooc; she's schizophrenic but nice enough (:

The lone silver-grey wolf trotted along. Unlike some others of his kind, Ryuu kept not to the shadows cast down by trees and bushes that lay scattered around this Land of Love. Instead, he boldly remained in the open, under the bright sunlight and clear blue sky.

This came not from brashness, or arrogance. No, the grey wolf was one who knew himself inside-out - knew his flaws, and especially, knew his own strength. He knew when to run and when to fight - knew how much he could take before breaking.

Those 'monk-wolves' he had met in his journeys had done their job well.

The talisman bounced gently against his chest, the amulet bound around his neck by a simple brown cord. It was both a warning and a reminder.

A warning to the monster he could be, and a reminder of his inner strength, his Chi, and that he, above all, had the power to choose his own path. His choices were everything.

Ryuu lifted his nose to the sky, sniffing curiously at the strange scents that the wind brought him. A pang of sadness manifested in his chest, somewhere precariously near his healing heart.

His dead mate and pup had loved days like this. Days where the scent of everything was fresh and vibrant. He allowed himself this moment of grief, before exhaling smoothly, letting it fade. Grief had a time and place - but it was not now.

Today was a new day, a new beginning.

Morning turned to afternoon, and then night. The silver moonbeams caressed his fur, turning it silver under her watchful eye. His muscles burned from his long journey, and Ryuu longed to rest.

Rounding a large, ancient oak tree, the sturdy wolf soon emerged into a beautiful clearing, moonlight brushing the leaves and grass with their delicate brush, turning all it touched to silver.

Including - he realised with a shock - the beautiful she-wolf in the middle. Her bright red pelt had turned a burnished silver, as she sprawled elegantly in the grass. It was as though a beautiful wolf from one of his mother's fairytales had come to life right in front of him!

And deep within his breast, Ryuu felt something stirring - something that had lain cold and dead ever since he had discovered the body of his mate and son.

This is the new beginning you asked for, a voice whispered encouragingly in his head, urging him forward when he dithered, uncertain if he was ready. Go.

Ryuu did. He took a cautious step into the clearing, his slim muzzle, then his bright, vivid green eyes came into view.

"I'm sorry, I do not wish to disturb," he said gently, in fluent, yet heavily accented English. "I am Ryuu. Might I join you, please?"
