The Thundering Of War [OPEN] Empty

Catori and Ankti

The ink bleed over their ivory patched pelts, thickly scarred and muscluar bodices ran easily though the heavy falling rain, not seeming to notice their flooding surrondings. Eyes darted, scanning their surrondings in the clear percision of a trained killer.

Slightly in the lead, the well built stallion thundered down the muddy track, not seeming to notice as he gracefully slid over the surface, never placing a wrong foot as his head remaind high and poised, the only noise that came from him with the slight sucking every time a hoof cleared the mud.

Pacing evenly on his left pranced his white counter-part, and where the stallion was graceful and fluid, she was too, though her's was a lot more dangerous in appearence. Her head snapped around at every short noise, her harks pinned to the back of her skull and eyes narrowing at any poor soul standing in the wind and the rain.

"Catori," the fae hissed, lengthing herself a few strides to be right beside him "where the hell are we? Why the hell are we here?"

The great stag sighed softly, looking at his twin sister from the corner of his warm brown orbs and shook his heavy boa.
"Sister of mine," he murmured softly "we will be there as soon as we get there."

She snapped at his mane and tugged it harshly, slowing her stride and dug in her heels as he turned to stare at her.
"Where. Are. We. Going!" she demanded.

"Ankti," he said, the never ending patience lacing his tone "we will get there when we get there."

She stuck her head in the air, the wind wipping her mane and tail wildly around her crown and refused to move, even at his gentle nudging.
"Ankti!" Catori finally snapped "we must continue, less we get stuck on this side of the river! We shall never escape then!"

The Thundering Of War [OPEN] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyMon Nov 14 2011, 01:44

It was raining again.

Ramil huffed, annoyed, as he shook his wet locks out of his eyes. Carrying his long, back tail high so that it did not trail on the muddy ground, the black stallion trotted onward swiftly, his pace never faltering, sure-footed, even on the mud-slicked ground.

He found the soft pattering of raindrops a comforting sound, as he moved steadfastly onwards. Tossing his head up high-spiritedly, Ramil let out an enthusiastic bugle, almost lost in the sound of the falling rain. He was enjoying this - the sense of freedom he felt, to do whatever he wanted, without critiquing eyes assessing him every second of the day.

Out of the corner of his eye, Ramil spotted a pair of horses. Twins, he supposed, turning his head to look at them more closely. Although, of course, they might be mates. Nostrils flaring, eyes narrowing against the driving rain, Ramil surged forward, approaching the two curiously but cautiously. Halting in front of them, he tossed them a genuine and easy grin, tail flicking.

"Hi," he greeted, raising his voice a little so that he would be heard over the sound of the rain. "Didn't think I'd see anyone else out in this weather. I'm Ramil. You are...?" he asked, trailing off at the end as he surveyed the two.

They seemed heavily muscled, and both moved with a fluid grace. He supposed that they were exceptionally skilled in fighting, and very agile as well. His grey eyes, however, kept returning to the white mare that stood beside the stallion.

PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyMon Nov 14 2011, 02:14

Catori stood still, quietly murmuering to his sister in an attempt to get her to continue but only recieved stony silence in return. Noting the slight scent in the air, the patched head lifted to the sky, harks flickering in an attempt to hear the approaching steed and sniffed slightly, making a note of the approaching stallion just before he came into view.

He eyed the tall ebony laced with rain droplets and the cheerful, welcoming smile as well as the tones and nodded his head in greeting, giving his sister a pointed stare.

"Greeting Ramil," he rumbled, muscles relaxed unlike his tense sister who fumed beside him "I am Catori and this is...."

"Do not tell him my name!" she hissed, tail whipping in the air and stuck her nose in the air with a fluid, haughty gesture, eyeing him up and down "he is a stranger idiot!"

"I'm sure he is a kindly stag Ankti," he hummed, ears flicking back with slight annoyance and sent the stallion a sympathic glance "I apolgise for my twin's behavior, she is...a bit moody today."

"Moody!" she roared, nipped his rump harshly and strode forth right towards the stallion, squaring her hooves and halted right before him, her nose almost against his "I'll show you bloody moody..."

But before she could continue, she froze, bright blue eyes scanning over his handsome bodice and something in her eyes appeared before she could hide it and stumbled over her next words.

"C-continue on y-your walk s-stallion," she hissed, stomping her hoof in annoyance at herself and truned swiftly, trotting back to her brother's side who was watching her with amusement.

"Hush Ankti, perhaps this gentle-stag may help us?" he poised with a good natured chuckle.

PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyMon Nov 14 2011, 03:08

He nodded in friendly greeting to the other stallion, blinking droplets of water out of his eyes. Casually, he noticed the more relaxed stance of the stallion, and mentally compared it to the more hostile and defensive one of the mare. Smiling at them both, Ramil took a few steps closer to pair, careful not the aggravate them.

Ramil blinked in shock, ears pinning back reflexively, before he regained his composure. Staring in undisguised surprise at the snappish tone of the mare, he inclined his head towards the stallion, sparing him a breif glance, before his attention turned warily towards the white mare.

"Nice to meet you, Catori," he greeted, flicking his ears. "Not a problem," he reassure the other stallion, smirking playfully at the fuming mare. "We all have our moments."

For some inexplicable reason, however, a load seemed to lift from him, once Catori had acknowledged that the two were family. Strange indeed. He found his gaze wandering once more to the mare, a smile playing across his lips as she stalked closer to him.

Straightening up, he looked down at her smaller frame, his smile softening, warming, even as he swooped into an elegant but playful bow.

"But m'lady," he protested half-heartedly, a twinkle in his grey eyes. "It would hardly be good manners to abandon two strangers on this wet night, would you not agree?"

He shook his head, droplets spraying in a wide arc around him, even as he pawed the ground playfully, tossing his head and adopting an arrogant stance.

"Of course I may help you," Ramil smirked mock-pompously. "Just call me... the Guide." With that, he burst into peals of honest laughter, shaking his head wryly at himself.

"I apologise," Ramil said after a while, gasping from his laughter. "Being alone for too long isn't too good."

PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyMon Nov 14 2011, 22:00

Catori watched and noted the small shifts of weight and gestures the stallion showed, startling warm orbs flickering against his ebony coat. He may trust the stallion, as much as his relaxed state showed, but if he made one threatening swing towards his annoying sister and her mood swings, he'd have his dead before he could breath another word.

"Agreed," he hummed in humourous reply, brown orbs sparkling with good nature as he waited for his sister's reaction.

But even as he watched on with humour he couldn't help but be suprised by his sister's reaction, never had he heard her stutter over words before, let alone in front of a stallion.

Ankti snorted in annoyance, a swift flick of her silken locks soon had a haughty expression upon her features, looking pointedly away from both of the idiots beside her.

The patched stallions sighed softly, looking all around before speaking.

"No worries, the quietness gets to us all...and even with a tag alone," he said with a pointed look at his sister before chuckling "we have escaped from our Indian home, we were war horses, but had to escape due to our village being attacked....and well, we are kind of lost, haven't been this far into the forest before," he said hoping to get a reply and maybe an offer of help

Ramil's smirk could not seem to dissipate from his face, even as he looked away from Ankti. Even so, the black stallion was acutely aware of her every move, her every breath, her every expression. Such attentiveness to a complete stranger unsettled him, and he tried as much as he could to hide it. Pasting a warm smile on his face, Ramil turned back to the patched stallion.

He chuckled at Catori's words, sparing a quick glance at the other's twin. "A tag-along, huh?" he teased gently, humour evident in his words, as he flipped his soaking mane back.

Eyes widening, Ramil looked at the two stocky horses with renewed interest. "War horses? I've heard tell of your kind. Interesting..." he mused. Seeming to snap out of his stupour, Ramil quirked a smile.

"You're in luck, then. I've just arrived a few sunrises ago, and had time to explore this place. Why not we go to a dry cave not too far away and wait for the rain to stop?" he asked them, flicking his tail. "I don't have a land of my own yet. Not ready to settle down that much yet, I guess. Just enjoying the freedom now."

((jumping in, took me a while to figure out who to send))

Spyro snorted as he flew through the sky. The rain made things harder for him, and he dove towards the ground, snorting as he almost slipped in the mud. Then he realised that he'd landed right next to a talking group near the river. he shook himself, water shifting over his black hide, his golden mane and tail, and horn gleaming in the rain.

He folded his ebony wings, moving in the direction of the talkers. He nodded to the two stallions. "Greetings all. I am Spyro, King of Timeless Sands."

PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyMon Nov 21 2011, 14:44

The patched stag watched as the expressions flickered over his noble black head, warm orbs not missing any movement, small as it may be and couldn't help but chuckle deeply at his sister's disgruntled snort of annoyance.

"Oh hush Ankti," he teased, nudging her wet shoulder as it tangled with her mane "we're just teasing. Lighten up."

But still, the stubborn fae remained quiet, head held high and refused to look at anyone, even though she tried to discreetly eye the handsome stallion across from them. Why did he have this effect on her?

"Aye, we were war horses," Catori stated deciding to ignore his moody sister once again "and the sound of a warm cave out of this rain sounds more than welcoming. Are you coming Ankti? Or are we going to leave you out here in this pouring rain?"

Her bright blue orbs flashed to her brother's face, and a timid nod escaped her as she shifted her weight from side to side as her dripping mane cascaded down her left side and pressed her side against her brother's pelt both for warmth and the fear of being left alone. Not that she let it show of course, she was much to pride filled for that. But at the thought of being apart from her twin in this kind of weather and in this foreign place scared her to her very soul.

But before they could move, Catori's head snapped up at the soft landing on a winged horse, eyeing his with wary and placed him between his sister and Ramil.

"Greetings," he murmured to the oddly coloured and featured, taking in the wings and the horn in having never seen such a well-equipped creature before.

"I am Catori and this is my sister, Ankti," he introduced himself "and if you excuse us, Ramil here was going to take us somewhere..."

OOC: ick...sorry guys!

The Thundering Of War [OPEN] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyWed Nov 23 2011, 04:09

A soft smile played upon the edges of his maw, as the former prince observed, with his sharp grey eyes, the subtle glances Ankti cast towards him. Those swift looks did fill him with hope and a young, rash eagerness - that which he had once felt as a young colt.

The grin became wider, though, at the sight of the gentle teasing between brother and sister. A pang of longing rose within him, as the age-old wish that he had not been an only foal rose again to the surface. He had had a lonely childhood - segregated from the rest of the youths due to his royal lineage. If only things had been different...

His eyes wandered again to the regal mare standing before him. Her eyes sparked with fire and vivaciousness, and she had a mind of her own, much unlike those mindless courtiers of his father's court. His slate-coloured eyes softened as he looked at her, and Ramil tossed her long mane, glancing up at the dark sky. Lightning ripped a jagged hole in the velvet sky-cloth, and he snorted uneasily, pawing the ground with a hoof.

A dark shape landed to the side of him, and Ramil pressed his ears black, spinning round gracefully tp face the newcomer. His eyes were narrowed in warning, a fierce protectiveness rushing up within him for this small little band they had formed. He took a step forward, squinting against the driving rain, before relaxing and giving a warm snort of welcome at his introduction. And yet... Even though Spyro had proven himself a righteous and noble horse, Ramil still felt a pang of annoyance at his untimely arrival. He cast a quick glance at Ankti, arching his neck, eyes flickering with unreadable emotions.

"Yes..." Ramil nodded in assent, stepping forward to dip his head to the stallion. "There is a large cave not too far from here. If you would care to join us...?" he queried, glancing at Catori and Ankti, before internally heaving a sigh. Curse the manners bred into him. What he really wanted to do was to tell Spyro to stay away from Ankti, but he doubted it would gain much favour with either of them.

"Shall we?" he addressed the group, inclining his head gracefully, as he spun and spurred himself into a quick, fluid trot. For a while, their was silence, and Ramil himself was trying desperately not to lose his sense of direction. If his calculations were correct, the cave should be...

Ah! Ramil gave a joyful toss of his head, calling back to the others as he streaked into the cave. It had a high ceiling and was rather deep - large enough for all four of them to fit easily.

(OOC: Sorry I took so long... Hectic few days. CCA interviews and stuff ><)

Catori eyed the new stag from the tip of his horn to the bottom of his flowing yet wet mane, Spyro, as he had introduced himself and nodded warily but gave him the benifit for the doubt. For now.

"Lead the way Ramil," he urged, nudging his twin before him so to be between her and
and this oddly winged creature.

Ankti snorted her displeasure as the red prints on her cheek bled with the rain, fusing with with her soft white pelt and turning her ever so slightly pink. Moving forth, her bright blue orbs remained trained on the leading figure of Ramil, now able to observe without being seen and very much liked what she saw. The handsome stag long flowing mane and tail led the way, the hooves led his towering frame in a very much graceful stride that she found herself easily matching. His thick muscular frame towered over her small yet strong frame and she could see herself safe under his side.

If only she could remove her pride...

Spotting the cave in the distance, she eyed the size and warmth before making a soft sound of approvement and slowly entering, moving quickly aside from her ever watchful brother who still had his warm browns following her ever move.

"Very nice," he commented with a breathy chuckle "this shall keep us warm and somewhat dry at least...."

He nickered slightly, the soft sound echoing in the shadowy cave. Ramil felt water cascade down his sleek pelt, felt the heaviness of his waterlogged mane and tail. Steel-grey eyes flicked around the cave, as he ventured cautiously further in, flaring his nostrils to take in the scents. Please let there not be any dangerous creatures in the cave now.

Finally, satisfied, he turned to see the rest of the horses trooping in. Like a magnet, he found his eyes searching out the small mare first, before tearing his eyes away from her graceful steps to glance over the rest.

“All safe here,” he reported, sighing tiredly, giving Ankti a friendly nod of agreement. “A thousand times better than staying out in the rain for sure! If we had waited any longer…” he trailed off, motioning to the now pouring rain and frequent flashes of lightning.

“We might have gotten pneumonia! Or hypothermia! Or might have been struck by lightning and died!” he gasped theatrically, smiling widely as chuckles spilled out of his mouth. Sweeping low into a mock bow, he ushered Ankti towards the back of the cave, where it was the least drafty and wet. He himself took the spot nearer to the entrance, noting his thicker pelt, compared to most others.

There was a small silence then, when it seemed as though there was nothing to say. Ramil stared at Ankti, pensive, smirking and winking lightly when she finally caught his eye, before glancing quickly at her brother. Stars knew he didn’t want any trouble with an ex-warhorse, no matter how good his fighting skills might be.

“Nice night to tell ghost stories,” he said amiably, glancing a Spyro and the rest. “Anyone has a good one?”

"Oh I have a few old memories that might work," he replied. "Oh a time when my father went rather weird," he replied, looking at the other stag as he walked. He smiled though at the mares. "All came well in the end though, though i never knew him as a foal."

He bowed his head to the two mares, and the stallion.

The bright blue eyes were drawn to his handsome, masculine form. Defined lines of musclue showing from the damp pelt had her heart beating ever so slightly faster, not that she would ever admit it. But the burning attraction held her in his grip, the feeling making her uncomfortable and had her shifting her weight every few seconds in the small warm cave, earning her odd glances from her brother but he refrained comments and questions as the dazed look in her bright eyes and flared nostrils.

Catori bobbed his head with a small smile tugged at his kind maw, brown eyes bubbling with warmth and good humor.

"Oh how awful that could of been," he agreed "struck by lighting, what a way to go..." he chuckled slightly with a shake of his head before folding his legs from under him and laying just within the enterence of the dry cave seeming at ease in the small place and watched as the stallion Ramil ushered his sister further to the back and warmest part of the cave with an approving nod and couldn't help but snort with suppressed laughter as the dainty fae complied, not even seeming aware with what she was doing.

"Ghost stories eh?" he said into the silence, harks pricked at the close rumberling of thunder "well sure we know a few stories....our humans certainly loved to fill the night stars with their words of wisdom...but ghost stories...what are they?" he questioned, seeming intrigued by the concept.

Ankti dropped to the ground, slumping her strong posture for the more comfortable stance of the floor, a tradition long etched into her bones for the long nights in the tribe. But even as she dropped, her head and neck remained poised in grace, harks stiff and tall at the growing rumble, her heart thumping loudly in her chest that she wouldn't be suprised if the others could hear it. Her nostrils remained flared, but not because his strong musky scent, but rather for the fear that pounded into her heart.

She hated thunder. She hated lighting. It was her one weakness...

PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptySun Dec 25 2011, 23:56

He felt himself relax, feeling the tension of his muscles loosen once they were all in a safe, dry place. The chances of danger were seriously limited. And of course, Ankti being in the same enclosed space as he was played a huge part in it. His grey eyes caught sight of the smaller mare shifting her weight anxiously, and laughter rumbled deep in his chest. Ramil’s eyes sparkling with laughter, he flicked his heavy tresses, grimacing at the heaviness. This was going to take a rather long time to dry. Just another reason why he hated the rain. Or getting wet.

Ramil flashed an approving grin at Catori, appreciating their similar sense of humour. Flicking his ears, he nodded in agreement, but could not resist chipping in. “But of course, since I would be there, it would have made the death worthwhile, no?” he smirked, tossing his head mock arrogantly, his eyes sliding towards Ankti once more, as he followed the war horses’ example and sank gracefully down to the ground. Folding his legs neatly under him, he sighed contentedly, looking around their small circle.

“You don’t know what ghost stories are?” Ramil asked in shock, looking genuinely horrified. “That’ll have to be rectified immediately! They’re the best on dark, stormy nights or days like this,” he explained, gesturing at the dark, ominous look of the surrounding area. “They’re basically just scary stories designed to frighten you. Fun!” he exclaimed, laughing.

“Sorry to hear that, Spyro,” Ramil murmured, suddenly sober, sympathetic, before he brightened. “I know a good one!” he said enthusiastically, looking at Ankti again, brow furrowing a little at her stiff position. Was she frightened? Was there something wrong? He sniffed the air. Nothing threatening there. Nudging Catori discreetly, he made sure Ankti wouldn’t be able to see his action. Ramil gestured slightly towards the mare, cocking an inquisitive brow, worry brewing slightly in his eyes, before he launched himself into the story.

“This was from a human,” he explained, chuckling. “The human claimed it was the world’s shortest ghost story. Here goes: The last man on earth was reading in his house. Suddenly, he heard a knock on his door.”

Her gaze looked everywhere but the front of the cave. They roamed the walls, they roamed the floors, even the small bundle of pebbles by her side. But even they could not drag away the ever booming and echoing sounds of thunder. Nor blind from her the great bolts of lights from the sky.

She flinched, trying to lessen the gut reaction and not allow the males in the cave to see her only weakness.

Catori, knowing of his sister's fear but completely lost into this new, fasinating world of 'ghost-stories' couldn't help but somewhat forget about her. But the large, kind hearted stallion caught the look of Ramil and the slight gesture towards his high-strung sister. Sighing softly he inched closer, so that she wouldn't hear his words.

"It's the thunder and lighting," he whispered into his flickering harks "her only and biggest fear...I never did understand it, seeing as we face a whole heap worse but I guess the mind fears what the mind fears...."

His warm orbs flickered towards her, going to stand and comfort her but hesitated momtarily before gesturing towards her once more.

"Go, sit beside her....she is better when close to someone though she'll never admit it," he said "and please continue on with the story," he said louder with a grin.

The Thundering Of War [OPEN] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyMon Dec 26 2011, 04:01

Ramil gazed forward, keeping his ears pricked so as to not miss what Catori was saying. Despite himself, a soft, laughing smile curved over his lips. Thunder and lightning? For someone who had survived many, many battles? Seen others fall? Seen the blood of the wounded and the anguish of the dead?

And despite himself, the large black stallion could not help but find it adorable. So, she was only mortal after all, he mused, keeping his gaze on the obviously uneasy mare, humour lighting up his eyes, as he gave a short nod to Catori.

His eyes widened in surprise, as he caught the stallion’s words. Ramil did not miss the significance of this gesture, and a small smile played across his maw, twinkling eyes flashing to Catori in thanks, before standing up carelessly and stalking over to Ankti. With a calculated arrogance, he settled himself next to her, smirking at her, hoping she wouldn’t know his reasons for coming.

He knew how humiliating it was to have others aware of your worst fear. And for someone to do something about it for you. Dipping his head slightly to her, Ramil’s eyes flicked over to Catori, laughing lightly at his next words.

“The story is over,” he explained. “See, if the human was the last one on earth, then who was that knocking on the door?” Ramil chuckled, shaking his head. “It took me a while to get it too. But really, it’s quite ridiculous…” he trailed off, shaking his head.

“So, Ankti,” he said, settling himself more comfortably on the sandy floor. “Tell me more about yourself? Any other competitors back at home that I should deal with?” he said, quirking a smile in challenge.

PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyTue Jan 03 2012, 02:05

Catori watched as the flutter of humor crossed the stallions expression, swiftly followed by the suprise of his request. Normally the large stallion was not so easy allowing others around his twin sister, nor letting them know her deepest fears. But there was something about this dark pelted stag called Ramil, something that seemed to suit his dearest sibling.

Choosing instead of ponder over the ending of the story instead, he turned to the other stallion to give Ramil and Ankti some peace of mind.
"But..." he whispered almost to himself, forgetting to give them some time "who was knocking at the door? These ghost stories are rather confusing....do you have any more?"

The thickly muscled neck snapped around at his deep vocals, orbs growing wide and round as he approached. She tried to relax her tense muscles, to hide from his approaching figure her deepest of darkess fears.
"I have never sought the company of a male, other then my twin," she managed to stutter out, almost with relief flooding her tones at chance to distract herself "and I have no plan to....alas I happen to stumble upon the right brute...but I doubt that is likely."
She tossed her head in a somewhat haughty fashion, though the effect was quickly lost within a flash of lighting as she flinched and jumped to her hooves, nostrils flared broadly as she tensed once more.

Ramil smirked in playful amusement at the look of wide-eyed wonder on Catori's face. Looks like someone had never heard a ghost story before. And they said war horses were scary. Okay, perhaps they were in battle, but outside of it... they were pretty cool. And then Ramil smirked again, because he could imagine his tutor scolding him and pulling out the hairs on his own mane at the use of the undignified word 'cool'.

"Um..." Ramil contemplated, shifting on the ground. He came up with a blank. Shaking his head, he laughed softly. "Sorry, can't seem to think of any more. What about you both, though? Any interesting legends about the humans of your tribe? Or any war stories?

At Ankti's words, he inclined his head solemnly, eyes dancing and destroying the facade. "Well now, not that likely, you say? How do you know that you haven't?" he probed, unwilling to be turned away by her haughty attitude. "How do you define the right stallion? Butterflies in your tummy?" he teased, eyes growing soft as he stared at her.

Another roll of thunder sounded, and Ramil stood up quickly with Ankti, tentatively touching his muzzle to her shoulder. "It can't hurt you," he murmured soothingly, before quickly changing his tone. "Don't worry, I'll be sure to protect you!"

The deep vocals of the stallion chuckled, shaking out him mane.

"A few, but none interesting...we fought, we won, we fought again," he rolled his massive shoulders before heaving his mass to his hooves once more, giving the stag a nod of his forehead "I need to check the area, stay here."

He sent his sister a look, chuckling softly to himself as he disappeared into the darkness of night.

The shaking mare trembled as she watched her brother leave, eyes darting between the evil of the thunder outside, or staying here with this brute.

"No," she huffed at his teasing tones "not at all, I have no childish dreams of butterflies in my stomach."

She snorted with disdain, but deep in her heart she knew it was true. She did wish for such a thing, and at the current time, at his closeness...it seemed to be him. And as hard as she struggled to stay away from the warmth and protection his side offered, she bit back a reply as the sky once more rumbled with threats, having her jump closer and brush against him at her shuddering bodice.

"What are you talking about," she snapped, daring him to mention her fear "I don't need to be protected!"

But her shaking knees told a different story.

Ramil's lips twitched into a wry smile as shadows darkened his eyes, nodding with agreement at the other stallion's words.

"Indeed," he murmured, glancing distantly into the worsening storm. "Nothing interesting at all." Ramil had looked up with a word of protest at the stallion's decision to scout out the area, before shutting his mouth with a humph as the stallion quickly slipped out.

Ah well, more alone time with Ankti, at least. He eyed her, grey eyes softening as he looked at her. She was a feisty one to be sure - but he'd wear her down yet. He just needed more time....

"No?" he asked lightly, grinning as he deliberately shifted a little closer to the small mare. "No butterflies? No tingling sensation? No sparks?" He let the smile slip from his face, looking intently into the mare's eyes, his own holding all the seriousness int he world.

"Everyone needs to be protected," he murmured to her, lips quirking up into a half smile. "You don't have to be void of fear just to show you're brave, you know? My father always told me that courage was the mastery of fear - not the absence of it."

The white fae shivered in the cool flesh of the night, despite being somewhat dry now and able to feel the radiating heat from the large stallion standing beside her. But it wasnt the cold that had her shuddering like a newborn filly, it was this connection between them. It was as if he had an answer to anything, already knew everything about her.

And my gosh, she hated him for it. And yet, this attraction couldn't be forced away. Not this time, though this was the most she had ever felt before towards anyone. Even her brother.

As his mass shifted, the soft tips of his pelt brushing against hers she shuddered more obiously again.
"I fear nothing," she whispered, but her tones trembled as another crack of lightning and thunder flashed by "I'm not allowed to fear anything..."

But even as she said the words her slight fiesty form seemed to fade as the thunder rumbling seemed even louder and closer then before and pressed her slender side tightly against the brutes, unable to stay away from his warmth and safety any longer.

"And I have never wished for it..." her bright eyes turned up slightly towards his "until now."

Ramil shushed her quietly, his grey eyes unbelievably tender as he shifted closer to the young fae, his heart melting at her trembling tone.

"Of course you are," he said emphatically. "Everyone is! Even I am! And your brother! Trust me," he murmured, lowering his voice so that it was but a mere whisper. "There is absolutely no one in the world that fears nothing."

As Ankti pressed herself against his side, Ramil could not help the sudden surge of joy within him, as he nuzzled her neck comfortingly, shifting until he was between the entrance of the cave and her, shielding her from the worst of the wind and rain.

"Until now?" Ramil murmured, his tone questioning. "What would you wish for now?" His voice dropped even lower, taking a soothing tone, as his body relaxed - finally at peace with the mare curled up against his side.

She met his tender, caring gaze hesiantly, wanting to look but worried as to what she would find.

"No..." she persisted stubbournly "some may, but not I! In war one does not have the pleasure of being afraid...not me, not me at all...my brother is strong, never shows fear. As did my mother before her death and my fathe alike. They are all strong, they show no fear!"

She carried off, shifting her weight stiffly as he nuzzled her neck softly and pulled her closer, but slowly she relaxed into his build unable to stay away from his warm side any longer.

"Now...now I wish for a home," she whispered, slowly turning up her face to meet his eyes and rested her maw against his side after a moments hesitance. "A home, a...friend..."

"Perhaps a foal.." she whispered so quietly, as if she didn't want him to hear.

The Thundering Of War [OPEN] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyFri Apr 06 2012, 05:49

He smiled gently, eyes kind as he leaned closer to the protesting fae. He, too, knew how it felt like. How the pressure of expectations pressed upon your shoulders. How the restricting chains of expectations suffocated one. The urge, the need to mold oneself, to shape oneself into someone they believed others would approve of. Would expect them to be.

But it all came down to that, did it not? Expectations. That's why he ran. His ears drooped, eyes dimmed slightly in guilt, before he brushed it away, slipping on his charming, joker smile once more.

"Sweetheart," he sighed, the endearment coming naturally to his lips, and he did not question it. It seemed so right. Surely, she could not dispute his endearment? Surely she could see how they were meant to be together!

"You have nothing to live up to. No," he continued, cutting off whatever protests she might have had. He had to make her understand this point. Perhaps, redemption? For the cowardly act he had committed, while the rest of his people burned?

"Listen to me, sweetheart. You are who you are. It's only natural to be afraid of something. Why, I'd bet my life that your brother's got some hidden fear up his ears! Maybe... he's afraid to lose you?" Ramil trailed off, meeting her gaze solemnly.

And as she curled up to his side, his heart leaped, exuberance shining in his sleet-coloured eyes. Resting his muzzle on her neck, he closed in eyes in contentment, his heart finally filled. "I can give you all of that, sweetheart," he murmured quietly, so quietly, something heartrendingly vulnerable in his tone. He itched to pull back, to cover up his sincerity with jokes and laughter, but her forced himself to stay still, exposing himself to the female that had captured his heart.

The Thundering Of War [OPEN] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Thundering Of War [OPEN]   The Thundering Of War [OPEN] EmptyTue Apr 10 2012, 02:47

She felt the curving of his maw against her neck as he smiled, a shiver running the length of her spine once more as the cool of his breath tickled the base of her spine. It was almost as if...he understood. Had been though the same things she had done, been though and seen.

But the thought had her shaking herself out thoughly. No one understood! Least of all this stallion, though perhaps her brother.

She tensed again, cursing herself for feeling so relaxed and warm in his comforting gaze and bodice so perfect behind her own. She swore quietly as she felt her tense muscles relax once more, unable to stay strong against his tender side. And her harks flickered back with suprise at the endearment that escaped him, her heart skipping a beat at the tender tones.

"What?" she breathed, almost huskily and shaky and found herself hanging off his every word.

"But..." she started to disagree and finally sighed, hopeless and seeminly defeated in her resting form "I have to...." she whispered, seeming pleading for him to understand "to be weak...you die! To love....you lose! I can't do it again! Not again!!"

Her eyes were cloudy, seeming lost in her thoughts, in another time and maybe even another world. But the pain of her tone was clear, something had happened to make her so.

Dazed eyes lifted to meet his gaze, a blink had a tear escaping her strong form and trickled down her white cheek with a trail leading the path for the next and seemed the very weak, fragile fae she had always hated.

But it did feel right, she had to agree with that.

"But I can't loose again," she whispered finally, taking his murmur in stride "I can't loose...you!"

OOC: Smile Sorry its taken a while...and a bit...rambleish. I really wanna hug Ankti!
