Three days are up!
Modetar has taken Still Waters from Dóiteáin.
Nobody thinks much of me,
Simple as I am. - Modetar hasn't ever been in a major fight, and most people don't know about him.
I'm a fighter, untested, but trained. - So he's not been tested, but he's been trained as a fighter.
I'm a beast who knows the sea. - He grew up in Vernien En'Seere, on the coast.
And yet I'd rather go above the deep green, - He wants to live in the valley instead.
And you would offer it to me. - He likes the looks of Still Waters
I'd rather see, your bright blue eyes, - Still Waters is dotted with blue lakes and ponds
So like small seas, - They remind him of small seas.
Next to your sweet bright coat. - He loves the sweet smell of the grass.
Shining like the sun, yellow and green and brown. - The grass is green during summer and spring, but turns gold and brown during fall. so Still Waters's coat is the color of living and dying grasses.
So like the snowy ground, this is you to me. - In the winter, Still Waters is covered in snow.
I'd be kind you know, - He'd be careful in defending his new land.
I'd love you ever so. - And would be happy to have such a home.
He is more intrigued, by other sounds than you. - Modetar believes that Dóiteáin would rather conquer others and pay more attention to other horses than to his land, while Modetar would like nothing better than to listen to the sounds of the grasses and water, as well as the birds and beasts.
So speak to me, and I will see,
what new things you say each day. - He wants to learn all about the land.
The sound of battle, I swear,
Will never reach your ear, - He'll defend Still Waters, to make sure that no one comes close enough to take it from him, and to make sure that there's never a battle fought near it.
and the black king that wants you now, - He doesn't believe that Dóiteáin really owns Still Waters.
Will kick you nevermore. - Dóiteáin will never set foot in Still Waters again if Modetar can stop him.
