Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] Empty
PostSubject: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptySun Feb 19 2012, 01:38

A river in the wintertime is a beautiful thing. At least in Ether's opinion.

Although, to be fair, Ether probably would have found anything to be beautiful on this day: she was in a giddy mood, fairly bursting with energy. She had been wandering for nearly a year now and had not yet tired of the freedom it offered. Oh, the things she had seen!

The ice crystals that had formed were hanging from the trees all around her in the silent forest, gleaming and shining with small rainbows in the weak sunlight. The white mare - so pale, many had assumed her to be a ghost! - trekked softly through the silent forest, her hoofprints the only sign that she had been there. Wandering in no particular direction, Ether randomly chose paths, giggling softly at a sudden two butterflies that swooped around her nose. Rearing playfully, she whinnied, the sound a crystal gunshot in the silence.

Still, she thought nothing of it. The ghost-mare tossed her mane, dancing dreamily among the trees, imagining herself to find a castle and her Prince Charming, like in all the fairytales. Yeah, she adored fairytales. Got a problem with that? There was just something about them that Ether found so... fascinating. Oh, she'd give her hind legs to be in one!

Wandering on through the dense forest, her eyes were glazed in thoughts, her mind trapped in her imagination.

Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptySun Feb 19 2012, 01:47

As always, it was wanderlessly he paced. Step one hoof in front of the other, hope that he didn't fall face first into the swells of the river's fast pace, half frozen with the depths of the winter's cold.

But then, he mused internally, maybe the deepest pits of the lake would be better then this world.

And again he continued, one foot in front of the other. Again. Again. Left and then right, right then left. He shuffled much like a lost soul, that was..until something gathered his attention.

"Blizzard!" he whispered with awe, taking in the white beauty. Though he shook his mind, as if in a weak attempt to clear it. It wasn't her..no. But it was sure damn close, if he blurred his bright green eyes a little.

Despart strides carried him forth, forcing his way with strong legs though through the thicky fallen snow and heaved his black body over the mass of white softness and onto the small clearing near the white goddess. Instantly he was at the fae's side, his nose brushing against her soft white mane and looked at her lovingly.

"Blizzard.." he breathed, taking in her scent as he burried his nose into her plush pelt. It might not of truly been his once beloved, but in his mind...half crazed from loss, it was her.

PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptySun Feb 19 2012, 02:03

Couldn't they see the beauty in each particle of snow? Winter was such a marvelous time! The whole land turned white - as white as her pelt. Some said that it was a season of death... but to Ether, it was a season of rest. To rest, before they grew and rebounded, stronger than ever.

She danced through the snow, kicking up the swirling flakes and dancing around in her own created snowstorm. She felt the cold-burn of each and every snowdrop on her pelt, as she giggled to herself, imagining that she was a princess in a land of shining snow.

Up ahead, a bright gleam caught her eye. A river! A nicker of joy escaped her, and Ether quickly abandoned her self-induced snowstorm, dancing gracefully over towards the river. She had to see it! Already, she could see in her mind's eye, how the sunlight would reflect off the ice, and the serene peacefulness of the land beyond.

"Blizzard!"

She paused, glancing back, jolted out of her daydream for a while, puzzled. Was someone calling her? She was sure she'd heard a shout... Sure enough, a large, black shape forced its way through the undergrowth, and Ether stood her ground, watching the large stallion move towards her quickly.

Almost in the same instant, she felt the hot breath of the stallion on her neck, felt the tender caress of his muzzle on her mane as he stepped closer, burying his head into her pelt. For an instant, she stood there, stunned, before shaking her head out of her stupour.

"Um. Excuse me? Mr Stallion?" she asked tentatively, her voice light and airy. "I think you've got the wrong mare. I'm Ether. And I've never seen you before," she added pointedly.

He paused for a short moment, slowly withdrawing his muzzle from her soft, white neck and looked at her, as if trying to see something nobody else did.

"Oh no Blizzard, it is you," he said shortly with a confused shake of his head "love, please, lets not start these games again! Let's go home, we'll want to get there before dark..."

He continued to chatter, the ease and familiarity one had with the one they held dearest.

Oh, but the stag took no care. For in his mind, this was Blizzard. His old Blizzard, the one who actually cared...responded under his touch. No matter what her name was, this was now Blizzard.

"Oh my dear!" he cooed against her soft neck, relishing in the soft touch of her pelt once again "come my love, my dove...let us return home at last!"

Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptySun Feb 19 2012, 08:57

He was strange. Not strange, as in eccentric, but... strange. Like there was something off about him. Or something missing. Either way, he was still a really handsome stallion. And who would resist a little eye candy? Not her.

Ether pricked her ears forward, a puzzled frown appearing on her brow. "I think I would know who I am.... I'm Ether," she explained patiently, not showing any signs of frustration. Really, it was like dealing with a stubborn foal. Maybe he just... wasn't all there?

But he acted sane enough. Apart from calling her Blizzard, or course. Which was strange. Because she was sure she had never met a Blizzard, and she was sure that were were tons of other horses who were white like her.

So, back to her original question. What...?

She listened to him, her dark blue eyes patient and slightly amused, certain that he was playing some sort of joke on her. Or maybe it was a horrible, extended form of a pick-up line. Since this was supposed to be the meeting place of the lovers and all.

She sighed softly, her eyes closing softly at his gentle touch to her nape, even as she nudged him firmly away, before holding his jade gaze sternly.

"Okay, Mr Whoever-you-are. I really don't know what's going on. And I don't know who you are. And whatever you're trying to do, it's not working. And it's freaking me out. So, if you don't mind...." she trailed off delicately, sauntering gracefully away, tail held jauntily as she started to make her way to the river once more.

PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptyTue Feb 21 2012, 20:46

His harks pricked at her lyrics, relishing in the sweet vocals ever-so like his Blizzard's. Or, at least in his mind they suited, for this was his Blizzard before him.

"Hush love," he shook out his thick mane with a playful smile "stop this confusing me, your name is Blizzard, and you are my queen."

His soft maw coaxed her gently, rubbing against the soft pelt of her beauty at her soft sigh. Seeming content just to stand their beside her, watch over so...so long as she was close by. No distance would keep them apart ever again.

"Ashwin, love," he said, curiousty brighting his orbs as if generally surprised that she didn't know his name "your King, your love..your mate."

He blinked as she suddenly pulling away, her sashaying strides carrying her further away from him and he picked up his large hooves, nimbly trotting after her with a despart glint to his deep ivy orbs.

"Blizzard?" he called, lengthing his steps to fall beside her once more "please love, we need to start heading home...else we'll never make it before dark. I also hear that our daughter might be returning soon!"

OOC: sorry..done rather quickly. Had to get away from homework for a bit...

PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptyThu Feb 23 2012, 05:46

"I think I'd know my own name, thank you very much," Ether huffed, eyes a tinge offended as she thrust her head into his personal space bubble. "I mean, I'm completely sane. Not bipolar or split-personality of anything. I'm Ether," she enunciated clearly, flicking her ears and shaking her head with wry amusement.

"Ashwin... You sound familiar," Ether frowned, staring more intently at the handsome stag staring at her. "I've heard about you once or twice. They said...." she harrumphed softly, scratching her muzzle against her leg in thought.

"I got it!" she crowed finally, tossing her head and grinning like a fool. "They said you were crazy. Something about your Blizzard? She got stolen from you? Oh..." she breathed, the light of comprehension dawning in her dark blue eyes.

"I see! You're looking for her? Well, I think I heard them say something about some vampire stallion. Gany-Gany-Ganymede I think it was. They're at the valley, I think. See, gossip can be useful," she smirked triumphantly to no one in particular, her eyes softening with compassion.

"Raven-boy, I know it'll probably be hard on you. But you gotta let her go, if she's not yours anymore. And no more play-acting, you hear me? That kind of freaked me out, when you started calling me Blizzard."

Ether rolled her shoulders, looking longingly over to the iced river, before halting at his words, pricking her ears in alarm. "Er... daughter? I've never had a foal before!" she exclaimed, shocked, before taking a deep breath and calming herself down.

"Look Raven, I thi- Look!" she cried, cutting herself off abruptly, joy lighting up her eyes. "It's snowing! We've got to get to the river! It'll be so beautiful!"

With that, the fae danced away again.

PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptyFri Mar 02 2012, 21:46

He looked at her for a short while, seeming to study her every inch with his bright green eyes before finally shaking his head, seemingly in humour filled disagreement. As he tossed the ebony locks and continued his stride as she walked away, easily staying apace with her fluid steps.

"Blizzard," he scolded gently "come love, honestly. Haven't these games lasted long enough? Home is waiting, I've been waiting. You belong, with me..."

His nostrils remained flared, as if despartly clinging to every part of her scent, not seeming to notice the slight difference all faes had. To him, this was Blizzard. And always would be. No matter what she said.

He snorted, nose pressing back into the arch of his throat.
"Me? Crazy?" he barked a laugh, the throaty chuckle filling the landscape "never love, you should know that."

But at the mention of Ganymede he froze like a startled colt, legs growing straight and stiff as he looked around, eyes darting nervously and a mad rage furfilled him. He reared as if this enemy was before, his terrible scream of pain and hatred filling the air and echoing thoughout the lands.

He landed with a mighty thud, still showing the every-lasting effects of his long-lost mate and looked at his 'blizzard' before him.
"We are to never, ever say that again!" he hissed, pawing at the ground as he slowly begant to relax "he is a bad stallion, a horrible being..."

He carried off as the delicate flakes of snow began to drift towards the earth, one landing on his nose and making his sniff with surprise, but his gaze quickly returned after the dancing fae, hastily following after her.

OOC: egh..typed one handed and somewhat crappy. Hope you can get something xD

Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptySat Mar 03 2012, 18:47

She mused to herself, staring forward as she lithely trotted over towards the frozen river. Fresh, pure snowflakes descended upon the earth, covering the dull brown earth with a blinding whiteness. Like a ghost, Ether flitted through the silent trees standing as sentinels, her soft, thick pelt brushing against the pines - the only spot of vibrant colour left in the sterile white land.

But again, her thought flicked back towards the black stallion who was currently following her - rather like a lost foal. Glancing back, she bit back a spurt of laughter as he followed her almost docilely. He was rather... cute, to say the least. Deluding himself to the point of believing that she was his long lost mate. Ether sighed, wondering how long and how many pointed hints it would take before he finally realised that she was not who he thought she was.

When he was like this, he seemed almost... sweet. Until, of course, he showed his temper - like when she had mentioned Ganymede. The fire of madness seemed to burn within his dark green eyes, and she had shrunk away in fear, choosing to to answer but to move onward towards the river.

A few more steps... Oh, how marvelous! Letting out a squeal of delight, Ether rabbit-hopped the last few shrubs, before bursting onto the river banks, staring about her in awe. Beautiful.

Snowflakes fell delicately from heaven, coating the frigid ice within their soft embrace. Ice crystals flashed, creating rainbows that danced over the ice sheet.

"Look!" she grinned, turning to Ashwin with a glowing light of delight in her eyes. "Isn't it the most amazing thing you've ever seen?"

The sun was setting, and the fire-red of the sunlight spilled across the pristine, untouched snow. Soon it would be dark - and then Ether would find a place to rest before moving on.

Ashwin continued onwads, his large hooves turning over the softly falling flakes of the now drizzling snow though every few strides his eyes darted after her, a sigh escaping him of relief that she wasn't just a part of his imagination.

Was she?

He was snapped from his confusing thoughts at her delighted squeal, recoiling slightly at the sudden noise in the deaf white snow and quicked his stride, pushing though the trees where he had lost sight of her perfect white rump.

"Blizzard?" he called despartly, unable to find her before bursting out onto the frozen lake with a skidding halt as he bump into her side with a oomph.

His ivy eyes scanned the oblvious landscape and nodded his head in agreement. It was beautiful, but nowhere as beautiful as she was in his eyes.

"Yes," he murmuered looking directly at her, dark muzzle brushing her shoulder tenderly "yes you are."

She gaped at him, dark blue eyes wide with surprise at the unexpected compliment coming from him. Blinking, she hastily recovered, stuttering out a shocked "thank you".

Side-stepping him quickly, she tried to calm herself, yet a prickling feeling would not leave her, as she let her eyes meet the dark, jaded ones of his. Ether flicked her tail, walking restlessly across the river bank, glancing back at the dark stallion.

"Raven..." she sighed, forgetting that that was not his name. "I've had enough of your games! I have no wish to go back to your land with you! Do you take me for a simpleton? I'm just another traveller, and I wish to continue my journey. You will grant me that, no?"

Tossing her head, Ether burst into a full-out gallop away from the stallion, trying to push away the pity and sympathy that welled in her heart at the thought of the lonely black stallion. Oh, how he must have pined for his love!

PostSubject: Re: Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin]   Upon a Winter's Day [Ashwin] EmptySat Mar 03 2012, 19:46

Delicate hooves of silver thudded over the muted snow, her kind and caring eyes landed upon the obviously lost stallion, watching after the galloping away mare.

"Ashwin," she called with her tender lyrics, the stump between her eyes showing the still rusted blood from her wounds. But lost with the strongest magic her kind had, she still knew. She knew everything, but couldn't always help. That was what hurt her the most, knowing without helping. But this was one she could help with, at least in part.

The black stallion turned at the call of his name, heart leaping as they landed upon the dainty white fae but he knew that this truely wasn't his queen. Illusion had made sure to put that in his mind it seemed.

"Your the Keeper," he whispered and she nodded softly.

"Ashwin, you must go home...Kadzait is injured," she said slowly, as if to help him understand. His harks perked at the mention of the wolf pup he and his dear Blizzard had saved and rasied.

"I...I must go..." he blinked and sent a despart look after his disappearing Blizzard and nodded his half-crazed maw to the Keeper "I thank you."

It was all going right. She had spun off and was galloping towards the neck of the woods, away from the crazed, deluded stallion. Her heart had been flying, her breaths harsh with nerves. Pausing, Ether spared a glance back, before slowing gracefully to a stop, her wide eyes fixed upon the bloodied mare that was speaking quietly to the stallion.

Distress momentarily forgotten in favour of satisfying her curiosity, Ether trotted quickly back to the duo, tipping her head inquisitively, just in time to catch the fae’s last words. Her breath caught, and her eyes rounded with horror and sympathy.

“Wait!” she called out after the disappearing stallion. “Who’s Kadzait? Do you need help?” she asked gently, the prior events already forgotten in the hopes of helping another creature.

The mare’s silky white tresses blew in the wind as she cantered smoothly after him, her pale pelt flashing like a spector in the dark woods.

(OOC: She’s a little… absentminded :p)

The obviously distressed stallion instantly paused at her words, quickly and neatly turning the hooves to face his beautiful Blizzard.

"You...you do not remember Zadzait?" he asked softly, nose stretching towards as if confused to why she did not remember the pup "we rescued her sometime ago. A mere pup..she is injured, the Keeper has told me so."

He snorted softly, glancing in the direction of home.
"Come home my Darling, we must return to her side. We adopted her after our daughter..." he cleared his throat quietly and carried onwards, a slight sound of pain escaping him "we must go! She can barely care for herself still."

Ether tossed her silky mane, rolling her dark blue eyes as she cantered over to the darker stallion, her pale flank dappling under the silver shadows cast by the moonlight filtering through the trees.

"No," she sighed gently, the slightly exasperated tone in her voice outweighed only by the concern she had for her fellow being. Halting near the stallion, the pools of deepest blue shimmered purely, standing out against her pearly pelt.

"Very well. Lead the way," she nodded, rearing a little and prancing playfully, before racing after him, peals of silvery laughter lingering behind her as her whisper-silent hoofbeats thudded against the leaf-strewn ground.

"And- I'm not Blizzard," she added, darting him a cutting glance.

OOC: alright Very Happy Did you wanna start the new thread?

His dark chest heaved, emphasizing on his need to hurry as his heart raced with worry. Green eyes flickered around, flank twitching slightly as he finally paused, head bowing as he huffed a sigh.

"Yes dear," he said with defeat at protest to her name. A part of him wondered if she had forgotten who she was? She seemed to have at least forgotten him.

But he turned on his rear, leaping off with a show of strength and galloped towards home. Where the wounded pup lay.
