Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) Empty
PostSubject: Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf)   Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) EmptySat Feb 04 2012, 11:56

Crunch. Bewildered red-brown orbs glared down to massive daggers as they plodded through the first bit of snow and ice. Snorting, he looked behind him, exhaling deeply as a smoke-like substance appeared from his nostrils as he breathed. Taking one more step, he stumbled, just to find that he was suddenly in knee deep snow. Flakes began to rest upon his ebony muzzle...and upon his curly tresses as he trudged on. Warmth radiated from his obsidian pelt, shining as the dull sun, misty clouds before it cascaded down upon him.

How could a place be so cold? It wasn't like anything he had ever seen before; it was odd. But it was also exhilarating to feel the cold against his pillars - and it was beautiful, the way the crispy, sparkling snow fell softly upon him. Burly and brave, he stepped onto some ice, but it crackled. The ebony stag quickly retreated, knowing that this terrain was like no other, and there had to be specific rules to follow pertaining to safety. Rules were never his thing, though, for he always seemed to think in an out-of-the box sort of fashion. Wasn't that how the greatest of leaders were, though? Ah, he couldn't remember to save his life. There was only one thing he needed now, and she was following him...so it seemed.

"Yara..." he said softly, pausing a moment so that she could catch up to him. Now, he was known to be a handsome stag, but he was nothing compared to the copper beauty that strode with him. The sunlight may hit his bodice quite beautifully, but it really captured her well as it cascaded through the mist and snow of the tundra. "Are you cold?" he asked, shifting in her direction slightly so that their forms brushed against each other as they traveled to the center of the land. Surely, she must be tired and worn out - they had been walking for days! It was worth it, though; he had just found out. Now, the only question was: where exactly were all the other horses that lived here? They had be somewhere; surely there was an authority figure that welcomed wanderers....

Finally, he came to some running water, and he came to a halt. Machitis bent down and sipped upon the lively substance, his dry mouth eager to with thirst. "It sure feels good to have a place to stay..." he said, thinking of how before he realized he had no place to offer his lively love. Now, they had a land to call to their own; the whole world. Anywhere they wanted to go, they would. The possibilities were limitless. Raising his skull, he noticed that a rather large, masculine form was approaching.

-

Inachus

Massive was he, with muscles rippling like the ocean itself and height like the mountains. Dapples rested below his flank, and his pelt perfectly matched his terrain. Lightest gray was he, almost the hue of the snow that fell lightly from the heavens to their feet. Although he was like snow in some aspects, he did not seem cold - but lucid like water trickling into a spring. Orbs of blue seemed to shine with gratitude to strangers and love to ones he held dearly to his heart. Looks could be deceiving though - but one was not easily deceived by the king.

"Greetings, to both of you," he said, nodding his massive gray skull. "I am Inachus, the half king of this land. What are your callings, strangers?" he asked, pondering where he could have possibly seen them before now. They looked fairly young, so perhaps they were new to the lands? Something seemed familiar about the young fae though - he just couldn't picture who she was related to. It wasn't important, for they seemed to both be of excellent upbringing, from the way that they acted. Bringing his attention back to the task at hand, he looked to the ebony stag, awaiting the answer. "What brings the two of you here?" he asked. Perhaps, the other king would join them.

((Who's here?))

The chestnut head raised as he heard the intruders in the land and felt Inachus moving to greet them. Snorting, Eispferdkonig walked for a few moments in that direction, before breaking into a graceful canter. It was not long before he saw those who'd come and slid to a stop bear them.

He arrived to hear Inachus' introduction. "And I am Eispferdkonig, the other king of this land."

PostSubject: Re: Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf)   Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) EmptySun Feb 05 2012, 01:17

Dainty hooves pressed into the soft white flesh of the ground, a toss of her silken mane whipped behind her tall harks as her elegant strides led her over the swift horizon with glee. Her collected steps drawing her closer to their destination, and once more close to his dark hued side.

He, Machitis, was her everything. Even in such a short amount of time, he grew dear to her. It was as if he had almost been created purely for her, and their wandering souls. But nothing had ever felt as right as it did right then, staring over the icy plains of Haus der Eis-Pferde beside him.

At the sound of his rumberling vocals, her head snapped with a snort and nudged his musclar side playfully as she came to a halt.
"Maybe a little," she admitted with a sheepish grin "but nothing is compared to this...beauty!"

Dipping her nose under the cold liquid, she lifted her slender neck once more and allowed her glassy green hued orbs scanned the soft white mounds she would call home for the time being, until they once more grew bored and searched for a new adventure. Her attention snapped back to the icy river before them, scanning the approaching stallion with deep thought in her eyes.

She wanted to know more about him. Obviously there had to be some sort of trick to be able to live in these lands! As much as she wanted to be here, she doubted she would be able to stay to long due to the cool biting winds and falling flakes.

"Hello," she greeting sweetly, "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Yara and this is Machitis, we mean not to intrude...rather explore."

She looked to the tall stag beside her and nuzzled his side, allowing him to say his piece as her attention was captured by another approaching brute.

"Greetings," she said once more with a plesant bob of her head, chestnut harks flickering for his words "I am Yara and this is Machitis..."

PostSubject: Re: Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf)   Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) EmptySun Feb 05 2012, 13:28

Robust was the knightly stag, night draping over his bodice; it stood out quite obscenely against the shimmering crisp earth. Machitis ogled slightly at the two approaching stags, for they seemed almost...fish-like. Of course, they would probably think of his assumption as rude and snide, yet it was all out of curiosity. He wondered how in the world these magnificent creatures that lived here could withstand the blistering cold of the tundra enough to make it their permanent dwelling. The rabbits who burrowed under the cold, hard ground didn't even seem to mind the cold. How odd....

Yara was correct, for it was quite beautiful here. It was different than any place he had ever sensed with his vision and touched with his heart, and it reminded him of the desert, as ironic as it is. The grains of sand - how the snow fell like perfect grains of a unison substance like the grains of sand did in the heat. Grinning, the ebony stag nudged her playfully in a loving fashion as he looked to the mounds of ice on either side in which his eyes strayed. Coves of ice towering above them reflected their figures, shining so brightly in the day time as the breeze flowed easily over them. Gales here was cold though, and a shiver ran down his spine as the first gust of wind nearly knocked him off his feet. It would take some getting used to.

Soon enough, the ebony stag perked his harks to hear the sturdy approach of a single gray stag. He was like the snow, itself and his pelt was not even thick and coarse from the savage wind and snow that remained in the tundra. It was interesting to see how the different creatures of the world survived, and those standing before them now surely survived differently than they had in their warmer climates, he concluded. Another approached by his side, this one a pale shade of the sun, but both had only the thinnest layer of pelt above their muscles. Extraordinary! And the most perplexing question, how did they eat grass when the snow covered it year round? They both were in great health, and others were standing nearby, looking at the visitors like they hadn't seen other horses in decades. Many must not travel here...

"Greetings, to you both," he said gently, kindly, bowing to the kings of the land. "We wish not to burden you, but to know more about the lands that exist and about the ones living there," he said, nodding slightly as he spoke. "I am Machitis, as she said," the stag grinned, thinking of all the questions he could possibly ask them.

Deep fascination laid in his reddish-brown orbs as he studied them both. One seemed to be more oriented to ice and one more to the waters that moved freely against the icebergs. As the solver of life's riddles, he found himself incapable but to find the answer to this natural phenomenon. "I must ask...how do you survive here so well?" he asked, wonder filling his lively orbs. He just had to know their tricks to survival...

She smiled gently back at his playful nudge before returning the gesture, obvious adoration in her glowering orbs as she shuddered at a sudden gust of wind.

It was cold, to say in the least. In fact she doubted that she had ever been this cold before, but she pushed the feeling aside and relished the excuse to huddle closer to Machitis's great bulk, a simple excuse to touch him.

Perfect harks pricked, despart and eagar to know what these stallions had to say, what there stories to tell were. It seemed her and Machitis were on the same mind-length once again as he voiced the very question that had been upon her lips since their appearence.

"Oh yes, please tell us!" she said sweetly, a warm smile upon her maw as she nodded for them to speak.

A huge black mare with white legs and the same runes on her neck as the chestnut though hers were white appeared as well, seeming to tunnel out of the ice and snow. She was the sister of the chestnut stallion and she moved to stand with the others.
"Greetings Yara, Machitis," she said, smiling at them. "I'm Toendra." She rarely showed herself to anyone, other than her brother these days.

"About us?" Eispferdkonig asked. He snorted, looking at the pair with wise eyes. He chuckled lightly. "We are built to move with the storms. You'll find that where we are, there is snow, even in the summer than it annoying everyone else at the moment. Toendra and I are the first of our kind, the Eispferd horses. We are full siblings."

Toendra snorted. "Our hooves are sharper and stronger, therefore we can dig through even wind packed snow and ice, and we never slip on the ice either. There is nothing the snow and ice can do that we cannot get ourselves away from. Even finding grass is not hard for us." She knew that the snow they stood on now was hard as ice, and she scratched idly at it, until she beant down and grabbed at the grass she'd dug out so easily.

"There is one other thing. We can control ice and snow, even send it away from us as a beam, or as a mist, depending on what we choose to do." he chuckled. "Now you see me." he paused and there was a thick mist around him that could not be seen through to him. "Now you don't." He dropped the mist easily.

Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf)   Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) EmptySat Mar 10 2012, 10:29

Frost seemed to form from his nostrils as exhalation misted through the biting air, shallow shards of ice clinging to his eye-lashes as he blinked twice, intrigued deeply. Winds twirled around him, coldness blowing into his face, biting at his nose as he huddled closer to his love. It was so very cold, yet her pelt felt warm to the touch - like a sweet summer breeze.

With a sweet glance of adoration, he looked into her eyes before returning his attention to the most interesting creatures that had graced them with their presence. Such a royal aura they held - something of majesty, something that he could surely never pull off. For some reason, he had never been a dreamer for power, but instead to know the world. You could not rule something you did not know of, and that was where today's leaders seemed to lack on. How he wished to feel the land, the warmth of her smile glowering down upon his ebony form as he smiled, a smile that he had never held upon his features before in pure bliss.

As they spoke, he listened intently, drawing off of their every word as it registered in his mind. All was new, bright, and luminescent as he pondered how great it would be to wield the ice to his enemies. A silent breath emerged from his maw as he saw the great muscled stag become one with the earth. "My god.." he whispered, turning to Yara in complete surprise. "I have seen nothing like this in my days on earth. You both are spectacular. But what of the others? They surely must be different than you?" he studied the fae and stag, one of them a light dappled gray and the other of sweet earthy hues with ebony swirls caressing her heavenly form.

-

They came up to speak, Inachus, as he had introduced himself earlier, nodding his skull in subtle respect yet in pride. Icy orbs pondered their questions for a moment, for silence filled the moments better than did words without meaning. Sharply pricked harks pointed erect, listening to the breath of their minds, their desire for knowledge. Once, too he had been searching in this world for his place - they would know when they found it. Would only be a matter of time until their young hearts melted and fused with the land that they had chosen.

"We are called the Hykran," he finally responded, looking to Rayna for confirmation. "We live by water and by land, and we wield the water in battle," he smiled, the water twisting around his pillars as it twirled in a dance above his skull. "To obtain our food, we melt the ice with our abilities to cause the grass to be shown. We can also transfer water to plants to make their taste luxurious, if we so desire," he laughed, motioning to the ocean water.

Nodding, he walked over to it and paused, looking down. "Now, this is where it gets interesting. We form a tail within the water, causing us to have the ability to swim very quickly. Only, we cannot be out of the water for more than a day and night or we will die. But not in the tundra because its filled with ice. The cold does not bother us, for we have an extra set of skin overlapping, but you cannot see it," he said. "Also, if you find yourself in pain, come to us. We can sense what is wrong with someone by the water that is in them, yet we cannot heal," he said, waiting for their response.

PostSubject: Re: Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf)   Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) EmptySun Mar 11 2012, 22:29

The dainty features turned to her mate, the rosy tint of her pelt glistening in the bright light of the snowy lands, contrasting from every angle against the white ice. The deep ivy of her eyes twisted, nose nudging the warm shoulder of the stallion at her side with a loving adoration in her eyes.

"Me either," she whispered in return to his awe "so amazing..."

At once her eyes darted back to the fae and her own mate, seeming to hang off every lyric that whispered though the airs, but all the while seemed atuned to the brute by her side, moving with him as he shifted his weight.

She mouthed the name to herself, the grand royalness of the title seemed the fit the ice-living horses and mentally stored away the small tidbits of information he offered of his kind.

"Truly," she murmuered with a bow of respect in the curve of her neck "you and your kind are amazing. You are truly lucky to be so gifted."

***

She could barely be seened against her icy backdrop as her silver hooves danced over the fresh flakes that covered the lands. The faint trail of hoofprints led her, but also her gifts that she was still struggling to understand.

But finally, her sights set on the huddling group near the borders of the land. Her slender frame slowly to a hesitant walk, as if not sure she would be welcomed in this meeting of strangers. But her softly curious nature over threw her timid self, so she soon pushed her way beside the kind stallion that had found her.

"Greetings," she murmuered, ice blue eyes darting over all the unfamiliar forms, unsure who was actually visiting and who lived in the lands "I am Iztoz."

Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf)   Within Fire and Ice(Kanny, Erosaf) EmptySun Oct 21 2012, 14:18

Stoic were his features, pools of chocolate brown glazed over as he was continually mesmerized by the shimmering ice fields. Each shard of ice was so delicate that even the blowing of the cold wind too harshly could shatter the ice that seemed to form over everything. Even his ebony pelt was now dashed with petite ice flakes, gentle as they landed against him - so softly, caressing his soft fur. Gentle was he to them, making sure not to break the fragile things of this land, for it was not often when one was faced with such beautiful things like this place. In all his travels, never had he come upon something so perfect that he felt he could not breathe without effort.

Nothing, of course, could compare to his firebrand of a mate, Yara though. Most that he had met in his years were already trying to be like the elders - calm, relaxed, and constantly cool. It seemed like their sense of companionship and adventure had been eroded by years of herd life. Hers, though, was very much alive, and she lit up his world so it seemed like the summers in Vernien from right where they were, and she made even the darkest nights seem like the sun's rays were touching, warming his back. Adoringly, he glanced back to her. It seemed like nothing could get better about his life, and hopefully nothing would go wrong. It seemed like just being with her was enough to make all the dark clouds that loomed around wanderers these days go away. They had no inclination to pick a side in the battles, for they had no dwelling. They had no inclination to fight with anyone, for they knew few to make judgments of, and the ones he had met so far had been generous with their knowledge.

"I envy your power, for if I could be so lucky to see the world as a fish, I would live not another day on land," he mused, wafting in the sweet scent of the salt water that drifted in and out of the cold, rocky shores. How did they live here so well? Perhaps, it was the exhilarating nature of this place, of how the mist rose in the morning that gave them so much energy. Even with a shiver running up his shoulders and down his spine from the cold air, he felt so alive here. His heart rate seemed to drown out the cold, and it seemed as if he was in a temperate climate suddenly.

Quickly, he shook off all the ice from his growing pelt. "It is a pleasure to meet you Iztoz," he murmured, bowing his skull graciously. "I am Machitis, and this is my mate, Yara. We are staying here for a bit. Just to see the world a little, for it seems that no one travels and revels nature so much anymore," he said, with a doubtful shake of his skull.

It seemed as if visitors and travelers were fading...these days. Everyone was settling down.

----

Inachus saw that a new fae had joined the other stag, so he only found fit to introduce himself to her so she knew who he was and so that he knew who she was. It was only right that royalty knew royalty.

"Hello there, Iztoz. I am Inachus the other king of the land," he said, smiling happily. "I am glad to see that sir Eispferdkonig has found someone," the young stag replied. Though the other king and queen were older, Rayna and Inachus were still quite young, and sometimes, they still dreamed about traveling.

Yara looked up with a playful grin, catching the edge of Machitis's glance and lighting nudge his side with a small sound of adoration she felt for the taller stallion before flickering her gaze back to their amazing new friends.

"It would be amazing to swim with such power and grace," she agreed lightly, wishing she had talents as amazing as that. But alas, she was merely a chestnut mare, no talents she had discovered as of yet.

Already her mind drifted towards the possibilities, of another whole world they could explore if they had the same talents as those before them.
"Truly amazing.." she breathed in a daze before quickly shaking her head to order her thoughts.

***

Izotz smiled politely, bowing her head as if thanking him for his words to help her understand what they were doing in these lands. Her pale blue eyes flickered over at the other words of greeting, curiously studying the other stag she was yet to meet.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Inachus," she said softly, nervousness obvious as she shifted her weight lightly "and yes, I am lucky he found me...."
