Come Again, to the Place We Met (Phantom) Empty
PostSubject: Come Again, to the Place We Met (Phantom)   Come Again, to the Place We Met (Phantom) EmptySat Jan 14 2012, 14:20

Snow Dawn

The white she-wolf stopped near the beginning of the glade, her delicate paws set carefully in the grass, as if she were balancing on a ledge, waiting for something. She glanced back once before she took a few, small, slow steps, and then, with a yip, ran down the hill and into the glade, to where she had first met her mate.

The rock she had laid on was older now, with new, deep, dark scars that hadn't yet been smoothed over by time. The gray of the rock had faded more, to become nearly white. A sign that the two wolves were not as young as they once were.

The trees surrounding the place were in summer green, their low branches clustering together to form a wavering veil for lovers, hiding them from the rest of the world.

The she-wolf sniffed the air, sticking the tip of her pink tongue out for a moment, before she snapped her jaws a bit in dissatisfaction. Other wolves, and horses too, had been to this place just a little while ago, their scents thick on the air. She considered them for a moment, then shook herself, her fur seeming to shift through all the colors of the rising light of the sun on the winter's snow, not liking the intrusion on her space. Then she walked onward through the branches, sniffing the air and occasionally sticking out her tongue to lick her nose, keeping it moist.

Eventually she stopped again, this time near a dark-leafed sapling, its leaves looking tantalizingly soft. She sniffed the air for a few moments, before touching her nose to the ground and sniffing all around the tree for several yards. Satisfied that none had been there in at least three months, she settled down in the shade, her fur appearing, once again, to be completely white. Now, she knew, all she had to do was wait for her mate to come.

Same trees. Same rocks. Same feelings. Of course, everything, including himself was a little bit older now; that didn't change the fact that some of his best memories were born in this watery land. It didn't matter that the rocks had a little moss on them and that some of the trees were a bit broken due to lightening storms during the summer month. Even he had changed quite a bit. Some of the fur on his back and sides had turned to silver gray, and a few of his ivories were chipped or broken. Those were the things he liked to call battle scars though, for they had been attained throughout the years in some pretty tough instances.

A light hearted yowl escaped his lips as he raced down into the glade a bit until they came to the clearing where they met. It hadn't changed that much, now that he thought of it. Green was the world, just as it had been the first time they had seen this wondrous garden of life. Thicker reeds had grown among the ledges over the years, but nothing compared to her beauty.

Scents swirled around his nostrils, telling him that many others had been to their spot before them - just today. Perhaps, it had become a popular clearing. He didn't know. Slowly, he clambered to the top of a small hill where a clearing stood, a large rock that he saw her laying upon all those years ago. Slowing his pace, he came to a halt beside her and nuzzled the thick fur of her neck lovingly. Through the winter, their pelts had grown coarse and thick, but now, they were shedding out to become beautiful and light once more. Summer was coming, and Modet doubted he would see another summer but hoped he would see his pups through at least eight months until next spring.

When his mate rose to her feet again, Modet was slightly surprised but chuckled to himself. It was her call. Trotting on, he followed her until they came to a sapling, leaves like softened powered snow, freshly fallen to the ground. Deep in hue were the green offspring that hung from the branches. A slight gust of wind came through the clearing, as it was not surrounded by deep woodland. Modet awaited his mate's signal, for he would not intrude upon her and begin before she told him he could.

Snow Dawn

The she-wolf stood up again and scratched the rough dirt under her, sniffed it again, then wagged her tail slightly, before she looked to Modet and stepped towards him, her brown eyes gleaming. Smoothly, she made a little circle, so she was standing in front of Modet, her back to the brown wolf. She shook her fur slightly, and some loose hairs fell from her winter coat. Then, she flicked her tail slightly, the small gesture signalling to Modet that she was ready. This, she sensed, would be the last litter she would have. Because of that, she was feeling slightly more restless than normal, looking for any stray brutes that would try to force her. If they got anywhere close, they'd regret it.

((No muse for her talking... She's being a bit quiet right now for some reason...))

Orbs jutting back and forth nervously, he watched for any forcers lurking in the bushes. Even in his older age, he could teach them a lesson they would never forget. There was a reason he was being so terribly cautious, though, and it was because he feared that this would be their last litter. Even so, he knew he would have to protect it with his life, for there were so many that wanted to cause the warrior and his family harm. Their reasoning he knew not, for the only ideological purpose he stood in this world was to protect the throne. His only true ally was Alston...and his father before him, of course.

As Snow Dawn signaled she was ready, he quickly finished the deed and came around to face her. "Are you okay, love?" he asked, wagging his fluffy tail slightly as he spoke to her. Soon enough, in a couple months, pups would be born. Luckily, their children only took a couple months to process, unlike horses who took nearly a year. Through the time, Modet would make sure his love was protected from danger at all times. This generation had to survive.

Snow Dawn

She smiled, her tail wagging slightly, her soft head slipping under Modet's. "I feel amazing, my dear." she said, her eyes bright. "You could never hurt me, you know." Then, with a calm step, she turned back the way they had come, till her nose was once more pointed towards home. "Shall we?" she asked him, taking a few steps in the direction of the coast.

(Bleh muse is bleh....)

Modet nodded and smiled, beginning to tread in the direction of the coastal terrain. It was so beautiful here, but this place was much too dangerous to linger for long. Even the smells in the air were different and strange to him - worrisome.

"Quick, Snow Dawn! Get out of the way!" he yelled shoving her aside as a hunter tried to take a shot at her. Modet growled at the hunter, head on with him. "Run Snow Dawn," he said, pleading her to just leave. "I will live, just leave me. I will meet you home, I promise," he said, awaiting her words. She had better leave, for he would rather himself die than her.
