Daggers dug into the marsh grounds, the nose dipping low and almost skimming across the very surface to many paws or hooves had tre upon. But he no longer cared.
It was hope he had lost, love as well. Without her, however long it had been now, it just wasn't worth pushing onwards. He he tried, oh how the once mighty black stallion had tried to win her back. But now would come to his aid, to help free her from his clutches.

The very white light to his being had been taken.

"My Blizzard..." he mumbled over and over again "my poor, poor Blizzard...."

The words caught in his throat, but no tears could fall. He just didn't have enough strength as he stumbled over the rocky terain, eyes semming blind to where they were going.

It was as if he could feel the very thud of his heart slowing, as if it struggled to keep pumping the blood though since she had been stolen from him. Maybe it was true, but he had never seen anyone die for heartache before, but he felt like to.

To those who had know the once pride-filled king, Ashwin was now a ghost of his previous self. A thin, wiry looking stag with next to no muscle was the new stallion. Sagging loose skin fell around his sides and his eyes were dull, glazed over as if in a daze. No longer was his head held high, instead it bumped and brushed along the rocks on the ground, not that he seemed to care.
The once silken black coat was now scarred and dull, several wounds appeared new and bleeding, but he didn't remember how he had gotten them.

"Blizzard..." he whispered again as as his hooves stumbled once more, not bthering to catch himself and just lay there, panting heavily.

OOC: havent posted on here in ages...I'll try and get some more soon ^^ hope someone replies...

Wind whispered lightly over the emerald grass.

I shook my head in exasperation, shimmering, blue tresses floating above my neck and just above my hocks. It was night time, and the land was finally quiet. The creatures of the day were finally settling down to sleep and rest, while I was wide awake. A pure, white beam of moonlight shaded the ground into radiant silver, casting its haunting glow over me. Instead of feeling exposed, like I had a spotlight on me, I felt strong. Recharged. Closing my eyes, the blue mist hovering over me and hiding my true form, I raised my head to Mother Moon, feeling the pure moonlight wash over my slate, purplish bodice, feeling the raw energy and potential soak into every pore of my body. I rarely needed sleep. Being in the moonlight was more than enough. I was sure that my dulled, emerald eyes had brightened to a starry glow, and my unkempt pelt had become silky smooth once again. I raised my wings, reveling in the cool, night breeze as they caressed my downy feathers and whipped the mist around me.

I was shielding now. Those that were still awake would see nothing but a glowing blue must, moving at a sedate pace along the river side. Tilting my head upwards, I saw that my presence here had turned the silvery moon blue. A rare occurrence for those of this land, seeing that I have never come here before. Would they be fearful? Would they be amazed? This was not all of my powers; they were simply the ones which I used the most often.

Shaking my head, I materialised, dropping the disguise and allowing my true self to be seen. Sharp green pools roamed around the quiet lands, and I found myself relaxing, being soothed by the calming aura. A sanctuary indeed,

Hoofbeats - weary and uneven - caught my attention, and I swiftly raised my head, looking for the source of the sound. A black stallion with loose, sagging skin, sunken eyes was galloping along the plains towards me. I snorted, feeling a mild bit of contempt for the stallion's appearance. Was this not summer? There was surely enough food to go around.

Then, he stumbled and fell. Against all odds, I found the sight oddly heart-wrenching, as the once proud stallion sank to his knees, defeat in his eyes. Pursing my lips, I walked gracefully over to him, feeling my mane and tail swirling around me in the form of its customary blue mist.

"Blizzard..."

Ah. So that was the problem. I shook my head in reproach, stopping right before him and snorted loudly. "You're Ashwin, yes? There have been rumours going around, lately, about your... less than ideal state right now." I paused, feeling my eyes soften as I looked upon the bowed head of the stallion.

"Oh cheer up," I grumbled, rolling my eyes and pawing at the ground. "I doubt your precious mate would like to see you in this state. She'd probably kill you. What are you doing here anyway? Shouldn't you be barging into the vamp's land and demanding that you at least see her? Or challenge him for her?" I queried, truly interested, as I lowerd my head and nudged the stallion gently, showing him that I didn't mean my harsh words.

Honestly. I wasn't the heartless bastard some stories made me out to be.

(OOC: Poor Ashwin Sad This is kind of.. a filler-in, since it'll be quite weird to have Blizzard in two places now? Sonata can answer his questions, I think, since she kinda knows what's going on around here in the land xD)

The clatter of hoofsteps ticked though his mind, the weak, tired orbs fluttering upon to land upon the mare leaning over him, but his dull ivy orbs could barely back out her figure. At the sound of Blizzard's name, his harks pricked and he struggled to his feet, chest heaving at the task.

"Blizzard?" he whispered, ears pricked forth as he made out the dark hued fae before him, heart dropping as he noticed it was not his beloved, but her rough tones finally made it to his mind as his head dropped back to the ground.

"I am Ashwin," he admited after a short moment and recoiled slightly at her harsh words but conceaded to the gentle nudge "I have no doubt there has been...rumour's....but I no longer care..."

His head lifted to be even with her's and blinked slowly, sadness filling the ivy orbs.

"Noting matters without her!" he declared, knowing he would never fine happiness unless it was death, or back with his moonlight goddess.

"You do not think I have tried! Struggled! I made a deal with those...monsters! To try and get her to return with me....and I...I have begged for her return, nothing had happened," he said forcefully, but the words came out weak against his parched vocals.

His legs were shaking, weak knees folding as he landed once more against the rocky ground with a grunt of pain, no longer having the strength to stand.

"Help me save her...." he begged, eyes lifting to the sky to see her form once more "please help me have her return...I will do anything!"

OOC: good 'filler' ^^ I didn't give you much to go by...and I've kinda forgot how Ashiwn works so ignore the horrible written posts for a bit XD

I huffed, shaking my head at the broken stag lying defeatedly on the ground. If there was one thing I could not avoid, it was horses neglecting themselves purposefully. All were given life for a reason - they should treasure it. As I gazed at the stallion, however, sympathy surged through me - more powerful than I had ever experienced in my life.

Madness and hysteria raged in his pools of forest green, and I could not but hold on awe, the power of his passion, the depth of his love. Indeed, this Blizzard was the most fortunate creature in existence, for she was sure this stag's love knew no bounds. Ashwin, she was sure, would follow Blizzard to hell and back for eternity, if the silver mare so wished it.

For a moment, sadness stirred in my breast, as I reflected upon the trials of my long but lonely existence, before I pushed it aside, sighing softly and lowering myself gracefully to the ground, so I was at the same level as the stallion.

Averting my eyes, I tried to shut my ears to his pleadings, flattening my auds. "Listen, Ashwin," I sighed, shaking my head, so the mystical wisp of my mane fluttered. "I do have some powers, but I doubt they would be effective against Ganymede."

I paused there, not knowing if I should continue. The prophecy was not common knowledge, not yet, since Blizzard and Ganymede had yet to leave his lands. The moon knows all, however, and by extension, her. Perhaps... Perhaps it would be best?

"Blizzard's been turned," I told him bluntly, forcing the stallion to look me in the eyes. "And no, it wasn't forced upon her. Her foal was born - Seraphine - and she was dying. Ganymede did the only thing he could to save her."

I couldn't tell the broken stallion that the two were soul mates, that the two had been prophesiced to be together for all eternity. No, it would break his heart. And Blizzard, I was certain, should be the one to tell him. But how could she, when her mind was as blank as a newborn foal's? She knew nobody except Ganymede her daughter, and brief flashes of Ashwin.

No, I couldn't. He would surely die.

It felt as if his heart had stopped in his chest, the weak heart thobs slowing at the news. She had almost died? She had a foal? Of course, he knew she had been forced....but he could only of hoped that it had never happened. But now, the truth forced upon him, he felt the pulsing slow with worry and horror of what his beautiful mate had been though.

Why hadn't he been strong enough? Why hadn't he saved her? How could he be so weak?

His internal battle had absored his thoughts, but the rest of her blunt tones drew him back and his dull orbs widened with suprise, showing shock and horror even more so then before.
"H...He changed her!" he whispered, repeating it over and over before the strain on his heart grew "he changed her into.....that!"

How could his beautiful queen turn into something so cold, so uncaring...but he knew that she couldn't be so. He could never picture her frozen in time, never aging, never loving....no, this fae had to be wrong.

"Will....will she ever return to me?" he pleaded weakly, hoping she would have an answer he wanted to hear.

PostSubject: Re: Loosing Soul, Loosing Mind, Loosing Hope....(Open...Saph?)   Fri Nov 11 2011, 20:57

I bit my lip, bowing my head sadly.

Bloody prophecy, I thought to myself irritably, keeping a careful eye on the stag lost in his own thoughts and despair. Bloody love triangles. Should have known this would happen. Should have told them earlier

My wings itched. Turning my head to nip at them sharply, I flicked my ears, grumbling to myself. "Yes," I snapped, exasperated, regretting my tone, but using it nonetheless. "She's a vamp now. And don't act so disgusted," she added, tossing her mane. "Not all of them are bad. Blizzard's not going to change that much."

I sighed, nudging the stallion to his hoofs. "C'mon," she muttered, nudging him to a small lake just west of us. "Let's get you cleaned up. At this rate, you're going to die. And where will your precious queen be, then?"

We walked a few steps, and I sighed at the feeling of the cold water lapping at my legs. Lowering my head to take a few sips, I froze at Ashwin's question. "Um... I..." I stuttered, grumbling to myself to hide my apprehension.

"I don't know. It's up to her," I said, turning to face him gently. "Only she can make that decision. Maybe you could go to Ganymede's lands and ask to talk. Talk," I stressed stamping my hoof. "Not fight."

Meekly, he paced slowly after her and stood in the fast flowing currently, not walking to far in less he start to float away.

"I could never be disgusted by Blizzard..." he whispered, horrified that she thought he would be "I just wish...wish that she never had to go though everything she's had to go though....I would never wish that against anyone, and my poor beloved...my poor Blizzard never seems to have anything easy..."

He sighed softly, skimming his maw below the surface so he could parch his tight throat and relaxed his weak body. He didn't even noticed the look of apprehension cross her features.

"I doubt I could do much more then talk," he scoffed with a half-attempt to toss his lanky mane "but....but it could be worth a try..."

His eyes lifted to the heavens, as if praying for a miricle and looked to the mare beside him, noting her form for the first time ever and whispered his thanks.

"I must travel to her side! I must at least know what it is she wants...and if he kills me, or she wants to be by his side...then so be it," he said strongly, but a look of worry darted across his once handsome features "thank you..."

I watched Ashwin closely out of the corner of my eye, sighing inaudibly. He wasn't a bad guy, really. Just... needed to get his priorities straight, I guess. He waded carefully deeper, and I unobtrusively moved closer, lest he suddenly weakened.

"I know... I know..." I muttered in response to his words, tossing sparkling drops of water onto the stallion's emancipated body, washing away the grass stains. "Life's hard... blah blah blah... But that's the way it is. 'Too bad, life sucks, deal with it' and all of the crap, you know? The trails of life, I suppose. What's life without experiencing love and loss?"

"And you especially," I adnomished, turning a reproachful eye upon the stallion. "You need to learn to love yourself as much as you love Blizzard. Honestly, to let yourself go into this condition when Autumn's approaching? When there's going to be less and less food? What were you thinking?" I chided gently, splashing around absently in the cool water.

She nodded approvingly as she stallion seemed to get his drive back. His eyes glittered and sparkled with determination - and she knew, that were he at his full strength, he would be a severe threat to any ordinary horse. Pity the stallion who had stolen his queen was a vampire.

However, she soon looked at him in alarm, splashing over gracefully to the stallion, mane and tail waving gracefully behind her. "Look, Ashwin," she said hurriedly. "You can't go to him like this. He'll laugh in your face," she commented dryly, looking him up and down. "Not to mention you'll collapse halfway, even before you reach his lands."

She sighed, looking around at the sun-bleached lands. It would be night soon, and her powers would soon be strong again. "At least rest here for the night," she suggested, flicking her tail.

With a new sparkle in his green eyes, he studied her in quiet content noting that she had moved in closer towards him and was thankful for the gesture. The muttering of his words ran though his mind, but he took no notice to most of them.

"You have never been in love have you?" he asked after a quiet moment, head dipping to nibble on the bank's moist grass and let the words hang between them for a moment before raising his head and studying her once more.

"I wasn't thinking," he admited "I struggled so hard, pleaded and begged...lost every inch of pride I had in an attempt to get her back and I failed...at everything. Without her...there is nothing worth living, I no longer felt hunger, the need to parch my thirst," he shook his boa weakly and sighed heavily "there is nothing in this world that means to me as much as she does. I have lost everything for her and happily do so again if I means I get her back."

And like that, his head lowered in simple defeat. Not in defeat to give her up, but the kind of defeat that he knew she spoke the truth, blunt as it was.

"I shall rest, at least for the night," he agreed finally.

I froze at his question, snorting uncomfortably at the turn this conversation had taken. Flaring my nostrils, I shook my mane vigorously, feeling the tingle of moonlight upon my skin as the moon rose.

"No," I admitted, shrugging nonchalantly. "Too much trouble, to be honest. And I'm practically immortal. Kinda awkward if my mate died, and I was still as young as ever. Of course, I could make my mate immortal... But I only have that one chance. If I chose wrongly..." I trailed off, shrugging, wading back to the bank.

Following Ashwin, I decided to fill my belly. Grabbing chunks of grass, I hastily chewed and swallowed, ears flicking, feeling myself grow stronger every passing moment the moon was in the sky.

I sighed once more. "I can't really empathise, 'cos I've never really felt that much... emotion for anyone before. But I can understand, I guess. I just don't think your way is the way to do it," I shrugged, looking into his emerald eyes. "You're not doing anyone a favour. And I highly doubt that Blizzard would be happy with the way you were doing it. Can you imagine if she'd escaped, only to find you half-dead?" I shook my head, smirking quietly to myself at the would-be expression on his face.

I nodded at his concession. "Would you be willing to accept her foal?" I wondered out loud, lowering myself to the ground and soaking up the moonlight. "After all, it's half-vamp. Who knows what characteristics it might have? Not that I'm dissuading you or anything, of course," I hastily added.

Careful eyes watched her every movement, knowing this was a true, rare beauty before him but he felt no need to claim her as his own, though he doubted she would allow it, she was her own mare and would never be tamed by a spirit other then true love.

"Words never spoken fairer," he whispered with a sigh with a slight roll of his weak shoulders and withdrew himself from the wallowing pools "but know to give you're heart when the right one comes, for they might disappear sooner then you think...."

He trailed off then, seeming lost within her own wise words and quickly snatched another mawful of grass in an attempt to quickly re-gain his health. Not that it would work, but the motion made his feel better.

Shaking his head with sadness and seeing how truely foolish he had become, he knew he had acted rashly but at that time it had been hard to think of more then just her name. Even now, it was a struggle not to think of her every few seconds and wonder what she was doing at that current time.

At the mention of the foal, he snapped back from his thoughts and blinked in suprise.
"Of course!" he said instantly "a foal of her's is a foal of mine, I shall raise him or her as my own.....I would never try and force them away...I doubt I could force a part of her away, ever, no matter how much I would want to......"

Rolling my eyes at his prophetic-sounding words, I tried to shrug off the uneasy tingling that had seemed to settle comfortably in my spine by treating them nonchalantly. Can't miss what you can't have, right? Then again, eternity alone sounded - and was - pretty lonely by yourself.

"Suddenly become so wise, Raven?" I teased half-heartedly, flicking my ears in his direction, as I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with the moonlight-scented air. "Probably would increase with your proximity towards me," I laughed, moving closer to the stallion and out of the gently gleaming waters. No matter how foolish his decision might seem, he had been the only company I had voluntarily sought for many years, now. And I really did enjoy speaking to him. He was wiser than most, and he had a kind heart.

A pity about Blizzard. She'd have been a fool to dump Ashwin for the fancy vamp, if not for the prophecy that bound the two together. Staring at the stallion, I heaved a silent sigh. If someone had managed to show that kind of dedication, that kind of all-consuming love for me, I'd drop everything for him in a heartbeat. And I'd never let him go.

"Good, good," I huffed, listening to his passionate words, pawing the ground and eying him threateningly. "If you'd said otherwise, you'd be missing a very important body part right now," I smirked, tossing my head.

The dark ebony head lifted, eyes roaming her slender figure with a slight shake of his head.

"You wait," he whispered, warm orbs showing only sadness "you wait until you meet someone special, everything you once loved no longer matters.....they become your every thought...your every feeling.....just you wait."

He carried off with a heavy, heart felt sigh before snatching another maw of grass blades as if to try and fend her memory from his mind, but like always she was a lingering thought behind his every movement.

"You are very blunt you know," he commented honestly as a chuckle escaped him at the ill humor, a shake of his head following with the thin strands flinging in all directions "but it suits you...I guess."

OOC: sorry its so....crappy. the last was better and longer..

Emerald green eyes narrowed slightly, and I kept my expression otherwise neutral. The matters of the heart made me uncomfortable, sore even. Most who had tried to woo me had done so just because of my powers. To display me as a show piece, a pretty acquisition for their respective herds.

I flared in nostrils irritably, huffing out an annoyed snort under my breath. Stallions. They were all the same. Or most of them were, I corrected myself, eying Ashwin. He seemed a decent sort, one who was straightforward in his actions and words.

"Sounds troublesome," I muttered in response to his words. "Much easier staying alive if you only have yourself to take care of, I should think. And I'd prefer to have room in my thoughts for another things than my significant other," I smirked lightly, muffling a snicker at the thought. The Moon knew I wouldn't ever be caught dead acting like a love-struck yearling with anyone.

His next words caught me off guard, and this time, I let loose my laughter, letting it ring across the hills and plains, filling it with my exuberance. "Thanks... I think," I laughed, tossing my head exaggeratedly. "I find no use to mince words. After all, you can say the same thing in just one sentence, instead of in paragraphs of words. So much easier, don't you think?"

The half alive gleam of his orbs stared into her, taking in the change of expressions and the slight shift of weight. The nervousness of his words seemed to settle deeply with her, as if she was uncomfortable of such acts and words.

"Aye," he whispered with a bow of his thin neck "it may be the easier path by far, but one that is much more lonley."

He smiled though at the sudden bout of laughter, it bubbled in the air and reminded him somewhat of his loves of twinkling vocals, the thought stabbed pain into his heart.
"Much easier indeed, as long as you don't say it to the wrong person," he offered a small grin, having made the mistake many times when he had been a colt.

I watched his expression closely, seeing the flash of pain once more in his dulled eyes, the loneliness, the desperation, the love that he was unable to keep hidden in his expression. My heart twisted painfully, and I fought away a pained grimace, glancing away.

He was a good stallion - brave and kind and loyal. He did not deserve the pain that he would soon go through, when he demanded Blizzard back from the vampire stallion. Oh, fate had indeed played a cruel joke on him. How deep would his sorrow be, when he realised that Blizzard and Ganymede had been tied to each other ever since centuries ago? That ever since Blizzard had been changed into a vampire, her memories of her 'previous' life grew dim?

Would he ever forgive me for not telling him before he sought out the pair?

I pushed down the pain that welled up, forced away the desire to spill everything to the stallion. It was his destiny... I had no part in it. But time heals all wounds. He would soon find another - one who could return his love whole-heartedly, and love him with all her heart and soul.

"Well said, well said," I muttered, cracking a small smile. "All those folks who can't take the truth are wimps," she snorted disgustedly. "No use trying to hide what is."

A warm glow lit the land. The sun was rising. I heaved a sigh, smirking playfully at the black stallion. "Well, it's been nice talking to you and rescuing you from the brink of death. I'll you you soon, then?"

Nodding to him, I spread my wings, prepared to go, but hesitated, looking back at the lone black stallion. "Look, Ashwin. Go see Ganymede and Blizzard. Let them explain. Think with your head, not your heart. And... Oh, I can't believe I'm saying this. If you need anything, just call. I'll know where to find you," I grumbled, suddenly embarrassed and leaping up into the air, taking flight.

Hopefully, all of them would find their happy endings. And maybe herself as well.

The deep eyes scanned her expression, feeling as if there was something she hadn't told him. Something she knew she should but wouldn't. But he didn't comment, having learned long ago something were better left unsaid.

So, with a wry grin he nodded in approval "that is also true, but some wimps happen to be a lot bigger then others..." he chuckled with a toss of his ebony tresses and sighed softly, the aggard head lifting to the sky, the bright green eyes searching for something in the breaking sunlight before softly replying.

"It was nice to meet you as well....thank you for your words," he said honestly "they have helped me more then you could imagine. I hope we do meet again."

He bowed his head softly in thanks, eyes sparkling with ill-hidden humour at her seemingly uncomfortable tones, but with obvious suprise studied her before replying.

"Thank you, the same here...if you ever find yourself needing a place to stay, my lands will always be hoped to you," he offered as she leapt into the air and watched her disappear into the distance.

"Thank you..." he whispered once more, turning slowly and disappearing in the direction of his old lands. He had a plan now, and soon she would be safe beside him once more.
